Pittsburgh Chronicles

After a very poor start to the season, the Pittsburgh Penguins lead by Paul Maurice have found a way to dig themselves out of a early hole and have continued to progress towards the team GM Rod Edwards thought they could be.

"The difference is simple," said Paul Maurice. " We just needed to build a team chemistry amongst ourselves being a new team and have started to come together trusting the systems we have implemented."

Joe Nieuwendyk was stating as saying,

"We are an older team we have been set in our ways for years , but Paul has us playing a young mans game and we are loving the extra space and chances to be more creative, rather than being stuck in the old army style regime."
Our record in the last seven is 5-1-1 and we are planning on playing like this at least through the rest of the season.

Roberto Luongo has really started to pick it up and we count on him to steal the odd one when we as a unit are just not clicking well.

Eric Desjardins was asked if there been a reason for our turn around ?

"Not really other than just a better understanding of what Paul wants us to do and good ole fashion hard work. We certainly have no superstars on this team. "

That is the word though, TEAM !

Our next game is tonight in Montreal to take on the powerful Canadiens.

This will be our third game in three nights, and I hope we have enough to play such a high rated team.
