Actually, Emery really struggled early in the season, as cover page stories showed. But he turned it around and beat out a previously phenomenal Nabokov (who went into a two game major slump) to win the starter's job convincingly.
It was one of the dramtaic storylines early in the season.
Emery's start can at best be described as bumpy, but then he hit a high and it's been clear sailing ever since! (until getting yanked last night)
Kudos to Emery and Detroit, I didn't expect them to do this well, a nice start to the season.

The POM formula isn't that friendly to defenseman, that is why I would kind of rather it be by vote or by commish decision. Nothing against Emery but he did only play something like 8 games.
