Player of the Month for Month One

Have to give a shout out to big Ray Emery as the wings road strong goaltending to a respectable first month in the BRHLII

Actually, Emery really struggled early in the season, as cover page stories showed. But he turned it around and beat out a previously phenomenal Nabokov (who went into a two game major slump) to win the starter's job convincingly.

It was one of the dramtaic storylines early in the season.

Emery's start can at best be described as bumpy, but then he hit a high and it's been clear sailing ever since! (until getting yanked last night)

Kudos to Emery and Detroit, I didn't expect them to do this well, a nice start to the season.

The POM formula isn't that friendly to defenseman, that is why I would kind of rather it be by vote or by commish decision. Nothing against Emery but he did only play something like 8 games.

I think we'll be keeping it the same here. While Emery only played 8 games, carrying nearly a .950% Save is what did it for him.

I'm biased, but I vote Lidstrom. His numbers have been outstanding and is one of reasons for Toronto's start.
