I thought this could be a good way to gauge teams' needs an eighth of the way through the season and a good way to know what teams are looking to do and who they're willing to move

Columbus Blue Jackets

1. Physical Top 4 Defenseman - The Blue Jackets are looking to acquire a physical defenseman who is defensively responsible enough to play a top 4 role. A high DF rating is a must. Preferably a player with a contract under 2 million.

Assets available: Willie Mitchell, Keith Carney Prospects Alexandre Picard, Noah Welch, Alex Bourret Lars Jonsson and Carl Soderberg

Ideal Candidate: Brendan Witt - NYIslanders

2. Right Wing Upgrade - Trying to move J.P. Dumont and prospects for an upgrade at right wing. Player must be able to play right wing and must have a contract 3 million or below.

Assets available: J.P. Dumont,  Willie Mitchell, Prospects Alex Bourret, Petr Kalus, Petteri Nummelin, Keith Yandle

Ideal Candidate: Simon Gagne -  Vancouver Canucks

3. Goaltending Depth - Would like to move a defensive or forward prospect for a similarly talented goaltending prospect.

Assets available: Prospects Noah Welch, Keth Yandle, Petr Kalus, Alex Bourret

Ideal Candidate: Jimmy Howard - New Jersey Devils

4. Untouchables

Pierre Marc Bouchard: 

 Has the talent to eventually put up 100 points in the BRHL. Since he's not likely to return a player of this ilk, he is likely untouchable.

Alexander Radulov:  

Will be up with the Predators sooner than later. Incredibly high offensive ceiling. 80 pts is not out of the possibility in the next few seasons. 90-100 point potential.
