Today the Tampa Bay Lightning and Columbus Blue Jackets reached a deal that will send right winger J.P. Dumont to Columbus while left winger Mark Bell is headed to Tampa Bay.
The Jackets are thrilled with the move as it gives them more roster flexibility and hopefully a better winger in Dumont. In 10 games Bell had only 3 points, while Dumont has had an equally underwhelming campaign thus far. The deal will allow the Jackets to switch Pierre Marc Bouchard to left wing.
Once Dumont makes the trip from Tampa the lines will look as follows:
Kariya-Prospal-Dumont
Bouchard-Weight-Gionta
Expect those combos to be in place Friday night when the Jackets meet the Islanders. Hopefully the move will lead to more balanced scoring for the Jackets.
