The BRHL2 has entered a trade freeze. No trades will put through from here until the end of the League Draft. All trades made prior to the freeze (Sunday July 30th @ 11:59 PM EST) will be put through. But for now, by decision of the BRHL2 commissioners, trading has been frozen. While I understand the reasoning behind this trade freeze, and completely agree with it, I do have some issues with the timing of it.
Here's my problem: many of us have made trades for picks, players, prospects, etc. while keeping how we will draft a few rounds from now heavily on our minds. For instance I have the 2nd Overall choice in round 14,15 and a Van 15 as well. But I dont have a 16,17, or 19th round pick. Obviously, with the huge difference between when I last pick in the 15th round and when I pick again in the 18th, I would be looking to acquire a pick somewhere in there.
Basically my whole point is that while the trading has become pretty ridiculous in volume and even in quality, we should have been given, AND STILL SHOULD, a few rounds notice of a trade freeze.
My proposal is that since the new schedule has just been released by Bryce via email, and we are still going to be taking the day off on Sunday (After Round 18). i suggest that is when the trade freeze be put into effect.
Another idea is that no picks past Round 20 can be dealt in any deal until the trade freeze.
Another important note to all of this is that these picks we are making now ARE STILL PLAYERS THAT ARE GOING TO BE ON OUR PRO ROSTERS. At least wait to freeze us out when it comes to taking prospects and farm players.
Everything has worked fantastic thus far and this is a really great league, I would hate for something like this to jade anybody.
MAYBE WE COULD TAKE A VOTE AT THE DRAFT TONIGHT REGARDING SOME OF THESE PROPOSALS.
