Hey guys, living here in Providence,Rhode Island USA I havent personally seen Jordan Staal play live yet, Is he legit and the real thing? Where on a depth chart do you see him filling the void when he makes the nhl, 1st line,2nd,3rd? Who's actually seen him play and how does he compare when playing head to head against another top centerman? I'm a fan of Eric's and I'm hoping he can be as good, any truth to him being capable of bettering Eric?
I've seen him quite a few times and IMO there's no way he'll be as good as Eric. The biggest reason he was drafted 2nd overall is because he's a Staal. He's a really big kid, and does everything fairly well, but nothing elite. Good defensively, a nice skater, decent puck skills and a fairly good playmaker. However he doesn't have any top notch skills. He's a safe bet, but I would have taken Kessel, Toews, and Backstrom over him.
