Maple Leafs acquire Jeff Skinner, more deals expected

<Toronto>  The Toronto Maple Leafs have traded Phil Kessel and Cal Clutterbuck to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for Jeff Skinner, Matt Frattin, 1st and 2nd rd picks.

"We had several teams with competitive offers on Phil, but we were very interested in Jeff Skinner.   He was a player we had targetted in the draft so we're happy to bring him to the team.   Matt Frattin is expected to join the team next season," said GM Garrett Hansford.  "The way this season has gone, we've decided to re-set for next season and add some assets moving forward.   We're moving to a younger core group for sure moving forward."

The teams most pressing need remains in net, where James Reimer has struggled when he has played (when the sim starts him and not one of my minor league players).

"We're exploring all options right now.  Trade, the free agent market in the off-season.   We need to bring someone in to allow Reimer to develop a little more in a back up role."
