Doubtful. Haven't given it too much thought. My problem is that teams end up becoming more shallow and you start seeing more default players, which despite what it happening in the league, we're trying to avoid. Full farm, full pro.

I am of the opinion the opposite will happen in that teams won't be able to hoard all of these players and those players can now go to teams that do not have full rosters thus solving this issue...
I know the guys with numerous picks/prospects will argue that they should not be penalized because they have obviously worked to acquire those assets but in most cases those assets are not going to turn into top end talent. We all know that youth is a valued asset and as such moving a package of those assets can relatively easily net a solid asset to fill whatever hole may currently exist. This would also create needed roster space if need be. I wouldn't mind seeing the roster limit but really doesn't make any difference to me either way and am merely being devils advocate!
I have no issues if the roster limit is set. I would simply like to know in advance.
As for filling out other team's farms, I would like to see a uniformed interest by GMs to ensure they have enough players for their farms before hearing that arguement. Fact is, some GMs couldn't be bothered to worry about their farms. I've seen a lack of attention to farm teams every since joining the league.

When I took the Blues I had very few roster players relative to the league. I probably had 25 guys total and the rest were Farm Center 87.
The current rule allows teams with a lot of roster players to abuse others. This off-season I tried my best to fill out a roster by signing a bunch of AHL guys to fill out my pro and farm roster. Instead, I had a couple of other teams run up bids on these guys. For no reason there are fringe AHL players making 1.4M this season. This wouldn't have happened if there was a 50 player maximum.
The current system allows owners that have been around from the beginning to hoard prospects and roster players. They then trade them for draft picks and the process repeats itself.
