Couple Issues

A couple issues I've had with the sims so far:

1) Penalties are still a bit of an issue, I think Boyle's bound to lead the league in PIMS with his 18 fights/game

2) I submitted my lines through the portal a couple days back, and somehow my farm goalie wound up starting for my pro and everything was just a mess. I had no suspension issues, either.

i believe i have to add to this discussion and hoepfully gets rectified asap... 2 games ago i sent in a portal lines which were valid and can be found on transactions.. my game vs the montreal canadiens... i set my lineup for 10 sim days of my games... now of course if there is an injury or i make a trade i have to get this fixed.. the game was clean so my next set of lines were ready and set... now i know there are isolated incidents but now it has happened to my team.. regardless im sure i still would have lost, it is the blackhawks they are a very good team. but why did my backup goalie go in net.. and why did wade redden get called up for hte game.. i did not set those options up and nor was any indication a transaction of that sort should occur.. This is a money league.. the caps said their farm goalie played their game.. my team brought up jeremy smith which i have no clue why.. but i really hope this doesn't happen again to anyone cause we are all working hard to maintain a balance and trust that the sim will do its job correctly.

okay im done my rant.... haha.. ill send in lines again.. i hope smith doesnt have to go thru waivers.. cause he was never meant to get called up

Ya my goalie of the day was LaBarbera, which makes 3 I've started already and Hiller hasn't had any injury issues.

I don't know if there's something in the sim that can be changed, but almost every team is being auto-rostered either full or partial...this has caused unnecessary callups and players needing to be waived again...I sent in lines last time with "copy all lines" but that doesn't even help...I don't know why the sim thinks teams need 3 goalies in the pros

Could it be due to guys using an older version of the client? I'm running off of 2.1 and I haven't had any issues as of yet (knock on wood). Also I'm finding that it's not allowing me to copy all lines, but it will copy day one lines, so I've been doing that. Give that a shot...

if it doesnt allow you to copy all lines then you need to go to your roster screen and click "copy all rosters" first.

then when you go to your lines it will allow copying for the full 10.

my lines have been working perfectly all year and im only setting them every 10 games... unless of course an injury or suspension.

Agreed 100%. Need to copy rosters before you can copy lines.

Mine too have been working well with exception to injuries, etc.

I had issues after I submitted my first line up change of the regular season.

But  my problem was due to the fact that I downloaded the newest client file, but instead of making necessary lineup changes to that file, I "loaded" my older set of lines/roster into the client, saved that, and uploaded these with my changes. But since I was now using an older "roster" players were put back on "waivers" who already had been cleared.

But since I began to just modify my roster/lineups after loading the current client file rather than loading my lines from my desktop file (stupid me), all has been good, and my lineups have played as expected.

Exhaustion works based on time on ice per game.

Players with a high EN rating are able to play the big minutes without seeing their EN ratings go down much. But if you have a guy with a lower EN playing on a top spot (or getting tons of ice time, he is going to get exhausted.

A few things to try if this is being a hindrance.

1. Play 4 lines. I know a few teams had their 4th line set for like 5% of ice time. Well, that just means all yoru other lines are picking that extra time up, and are going to be exhausted

2. Dont play players on all units. If you have a star player, getting tired, do you have him on the first unit for regular strength, powerplay, and penalty kill? Given the huge amounts of time on ice, then he's going to be getting tired. Perhaps drop him to yoru second PK unit (or off entirely is what I do). You need to monitor guys time on the ice to ensure maximum performance.

3. Goalies get tired due to shots on them in a game. If you have a golaie getting 40 shots per game, you better be spelling him regularily (or getting a better DF), becuase you're going to run him into the ground.

Ok there's still an issue here. Not only am I sure I have the most up to date STHS, but I even have Windows 7 installed on my Mac. I've copied all rosters and lines for 10 games and made sure Raycroft was starting all the minors games for my team, and now he's back on my pro roster...wtf???

I had the same issue the other day...there were no line-up changes so didn't send in my line-up as only my farm team was playing....different goalie started, had 2 created D-men in my line-up, and 2 farm players were pro scratch's. I have noticed that if you do your line-up DAILY and send it in that there are NO issues so my point is that if you don`t get lazy and send lines daily all will be fine!

I'm not sure I agreed with some of the EN ratings given to some players though I do understand that it's a done deal at this stage of the season.

Some players received low EN ratings based on their time spent in the NHL even though they played a full season when you consider they spent the remainder of their season in the AHL.

Take Brett MacLean as an example: He currently has a 47 EN rating. In the 2010-11 season he played 13 NHL games and top line minutes in 51 AHL games. Had he only played in the AHL for a full season I believe he would have received a much higher EN rating.

Perhaps this is something that should be considered for next year, thanks.
