Jets media finally gets look at crazy G.M as 4 trades made.

With the Jets moving back to Winnipeg local media in the area has been enamoured with the team. Constant requests for players to do interviews and t.v spots has been a new twist for the old Thrasher players. With a fairly normal off-season activity wise a couple UFA's, some trades. Things have been fairly routine for the press.

On the eve of the waiver draft the media had plenty to talk and write about as the team's G.M made 4 fairly substantial moves shaking up the outlook of the Jets.

The first move saw Cody Goloubef and a 6th leave the organization. Coming back to Winnipeg was Manny Maholtra and a 7th.

With the move the teams G.M said this at his press conference, "We really feel Manny will be a key for us this season playing a huge role on our PK and a steady defensive presence on our third line. We didn't like moving Goloubef but to get something yah have to give something."

The second move saw Dominic Moore, Antti Meittinen, Michal Jordan, 750k leave Winnipeg for warmer climate in North Carolina. Coming to the cold Manitoba province is winger Chris Higgins, Mark Flood, and veteran goalie Curtis Sanford.

The G.M was quoted to saying, "With Manny's arrival we felt Moore would be wasted on a 4th line so we moved him out and brought in a forward we are very high on in Higgins, with a great start in the NHL and a 5 year 1.85 reasonable contract we think Higgins will find role very easily on our team in future and fill a PK role right now with his solid defensive ratings."

The third move was an interesting one that saw goalie Jake Allen and the Atlanta 1st leave town for Vancouver.. Coming to Winnipeg is goalie Leland Irving, forward Adam Henrique, Vancouver 1st and 2 million cash.

Shuck said this to local media when the deal was brought up during the press conference, "Moving Jake wasn't something we intended on doing but Leland is someone who has long been a target of our's having grown up playing hockey against him myself and drinking with his brother and sister at a few weddings this past summer. Hopefully moving up in the draft and also bringing in a great young centre in Henrique we hope makes this swap in our favour in the following years.."

The fourth move was the largest of the deal seeing Jack Johnson, Jakub Voracek and prospect Freddie Hamilton leave Manitoba heading for the Flyers organization. Coming to play for the Jets are NHL Jets Brian Little and Zach Bogosian, along with prospect Tyler Bunz and 2 mill cash and Guillaume Desbiens.

With the media in a frenzy following this trade announcement with no rumours of this deal, the media had known the first 3 deals before the press conference. After Shuck quieted the crowd this is what he said, "Moving Jack is really tough for us too do he is a strong rated player with a nice contract in our BRHL2. Voracek is also someone we feel has nice upside but still have a lot of questions about also. We really feel Zach Bogosian is going to be a true impact player for us in Winnipeg, he can quarterback a powerplay with a rocket shot. Also play PK and against other teams top players. Brian Little is also someone we really do like his ability to play LW/RW/C and still have respectable face-off rating in the 70's he brings a lot of flexibility to our lineup. Bunz has recently been named CHL goalie of the month to kick off this season and someone we feel great about scouting more at the WJC this year where I will be sitting 1st row behind the home team bench in Edmonton."

With that the Owner/President/G.M left the press conference. Local media members then began assembling what would have been the total trade. After some paper work they came up with the following..

Coming to Winnipeg- Zach Bogosian, Brian Little, Chris Higgins, Manny Maholtra, Adam Henrique, Leland Irving, Tyler Bunz, Mark Flood, Curtis Sanford,  Guillaume Desbiens, Van 1st, St.L 7th, 3.25 million $.

Leaving town- Jack Johnson, Jakub Voracek, Dominic Moore, Antti Meittinen, Jake Allen, Cody Goloubef, Michal Jordan, Freddie Hamilton, Atl 1st. Phi 6th.

And with that the media took pencil to paper in attempt to figure out the teams 23 man roster.

With-

John Tavares-Patrice Bergeron-Manny Maholtra- Mike Modano their 4 C's

Alex Ovechking-Rick Nash-Clarke MacArthur-Chris Higgins their are 4 LW's

Chris Stewart-Ales Hemsky-Brian Little-Colin Wilson their are 4 RW's

Zdeno Chara-Erik Johnson-Dustin Byfuglien-Joe Corvo-Zach Bogosian- Theo Peckham makes 6 Dmen.

Ryan Miller-Curtis Sanford is 2 goalies.

With 20 spots accounted for they began guessing who could be available in the waiver draft or if the team plans on protecting three other assets..
