The Oilers had been looking forward to the draft all season; and for good reason. Picking up 6 new faces in the first 3 rounds including 4 picks in the top 40, the Oilers really hope to have some growing assets for the future.

The biggest fish in this pond is Brett Connolly. Though some may question the selection, GM Leon is pleased with the pick. "He may not be as NHL-ready as some other names that I could have picked, but long-term, we believe he is the best fit for our team"
Nice draft. A few picks I didn't like (Connolly, Thomas) But the others I thought you picked at good times. I was trying to trade up to take Pulkkinen who I had 16th on my board.
