As Im sure youve noticed, the BRHL sites are down. Long story short: May 31st is when the contract with godaddy.com ends. I am in the process of switching all our stuff to a newer, cheaper and faster location.
I was told by godaddy that wed have until May 31 to move the site to make the switch without anything happening. Apparently, that wasnt the case, and yesterday the site went down.
Suffice to say, this has sped up my process of moving the site to its new location.
Unfortunately, this likely puts a wrench into our simming schedules, as the sites could be down till as long as Wednesday. In the meantime, Im processing the order to transfer our site to the new location, and make sure everything is back up and running smoothly. Once the transfer is complete, I would expect maybe a day or two of maintenance on my part to re-code some of the specific files on the site so that everything works as it should.
I did not want it to happen this way, but its the cards Ive been dealt. I will keep you guys informed of any changes to what Ive listed above, or anything else in general that you guys would need to know.
P.S. On a related note, the e-mail addresses that the league commissioners use will remain intact.

Hey guys, I sincerely apologize for the delay with transferring the BRHL websites to their new location. It was not my intention to have this take as long as it has. Unfortunately, the process for transferring domains is out of my hands. Im checking the status every day so that once I get the full go ahead, I will begin reconstructing the sites back to their normal status. Im currently doing as much as I possibly can without having full access to what I need.
I cant thank you enough for your patience. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at ericdole@brhlhockey.com. If for some reason that e-mail would be down due to the transformation (and it shouldnt), you can reach me at ferencefan1@hotmail.com.
We should have something by Saturday. And I'm giving myself more leeway there then I want, tomorrow or Friday is most likely.
To keep my sanity, I don't feel like reliving the complete details here, other then I'm thinking we're near the end of the road before we get back to normal.

Hey guys, Its been a long time. Way too long. For that, Im sincerely sorry.
Ill be honest, Im a little too frustrated to go into all the details here, but we should be close to getting up and running again. Usually the easiest thing, the FTP access and accounts, has become the trickiest.
Ive done what I can prior to getting the FTP working properly, so that once that kicks in, we should be good.
Long story short, everything is being worked on. Im extremely frustrated with the situation, and rarely a moment goes by where its not on my mind. Forgive me if I havent responded to some individual requests as the requests usually just end up reminding me of the mess that were all having to deal with right now. I did not expect, nor want anything close to this.
To sum it up, I would rather be a Flyers fan than deal with these issues ever again. I cannot thank you enough for your patience here. It does not go unnoticed one bit.
We've been down for a month and have no ****ing clue what's going on.
If I hadn't known Bryce for almost 10 years I would be 100% confident I was scammed out of money.
thats a ridiculous post... to throw it out their and say ud be confident ud been scammed is a sweet post trevor..
i just wanna thank eric for the hours he spends trying to keep this league awesome and like many other g.m's we grant him the time to get things lined up and realize he is doing his best to get it done, and will obviously lets us know what's happening if their is any true crisis.
just curious trevor with ur whinny tit mentality did u participate in any riots lately?
:) i just trying to prove point on throwing out that kinda bs never helps any situation man.

Whinny Tit mentality... really?
- The last simulation I have is May 10th. It is now July 1st. - It took over a week for ANYTHING to be relayed to the GMs when the site randomly went down. - Our "head commish" Bryce has not said a WORD on any of this. - Last message received was 2.5 weeks ago giving false hope/promise to the situation. - I paid $100 to be apart of a well ran league that operates on schedule.
So... when I finally voice my pleasure as a paying customer... I am a whinny tit? You have got to be ****ing kidding me buddy.
Are you telling me that if you gave someone $100 over the internet.... and didn't hear anything for a MONTH... you would assume all is well? Did you give $10,000 to the Nigerian Prince to pay for his bank fees Kirk? If I was someone new to this league and didn't know many people... I would FOR SURE think I was scammed out of cash.
Sorry... but it really doesn't seem hard to throw together a makeship site to finish out the season. I've seen leagues fall behind like this before and it's not good. Now the summer is set to be a cluster**** of **** to do. Next thing you know, you START seasons in December/January... interest falls off and eventually it dies or is still run but it feels like everyone is "going through the motions".
I REALLY don't think I'm out of line here. I'm not the only one that's extremely unsatisfied with how this situation has been handled... Especially when money is involved. While its a relatively small amount of money, it makes this situation more complicated. I have the right to voice my displeasure without being called a whinny moron.
I don't think it's a joke.... I don't think it's funny.
PS - Nice ass kissing attempt in that post... Do you think that makes him feel warm and fuzzy inside? Give your balls a tug buddy. :) (smiley face is to make it all better, and to "prove" a point.)

First of all Trevor, you are one of the LAST GMs to join this league, so maybe if you had been around longer, you wouldn't have these concerns ROOKIE...
Have you considered sending eric or bryce an email message??? I know that Bryce is in the process of moving his family and career from Edmonton to Denver... so yeah my guess is he's probably swamped...
And since a "makeshift site" is so easy to throw together, get on the phone with Eric and do it yourself you ignorant prick.
As everyone who has been in this league knows, Eric and Bryce are both standup guys and noone is going to be out a single dollar when all is said and done...
From what I understand, this is what has been happening: Godaddy demanded a nearly 300% increase on the cost of the site, so Eric has been trying to find a website host that is willing to do it to us for free considering all the traffic we produce (so more $ comes back to all of us at the end of the season)... He thought it was handled 2 weeks ago and the whole process was going well until there were some very significant issues moving specific pages and features to that new site... as of right now, I believe he is in the process of deciding whether to change the payout formula for next season to pay for the Godaddy site, or trying to find a cheaper alternative...
I have no idea what goes into the process, but I do know that it doesnt just take a few hours or even a few days to do all this... NOT TO MENTION that its summertime and people are finally outside enjoying themselves and have a lot less time to spend on fantasy hockey...
What would be the downside to our season finishing with 2 days simmed every day in late August/early September?? Then we'd have PLENTY of time to do UFA/RFA (went on waaay to long last summer, many ways to shorten that up) and a preseason before starting in October like we normally do... instead of having our downtime from July-September this year, we are having our downtime in May-August.... which, IMO, is NOT A BIG DEAL...
Again, I have no direct knowledge of any of this, and I would like to see an update as well from Bryce or Eric... but they are obviously very busy..

While things are getting done to get the league back up and running, it would be helpful to have our rosters posted somewhere (geocities?) so we can work on some trades for next season.
