EAST

Capitals vs. Rangers -  CAPITALS in 6
Flyers vs. Sabres -  SABRES in 5
Bruins vs. Canadiens - BRUINS in 4
Penguins vs. Lightning - PENGUINS in 6

 

WEST

Canucks vs. Blackhawks - BLACKHAWKS in 6
Sharks vs. Kings - SHARKS in 7
Red Wings vs. Coyotes - COYOTES in 6
Ducks vs. Predators - DUCKS in 7 

 

If the Pens and Flyers switched opponents in the first round, you'd have the best first round match ups in recent memory with each teams playing great against each other during the regular season (TB/PHI series was very high scoring and out of control, while PIT/BUF was usually decided by only a goal).

Vancouver's kryptonite is Chicago, same goes for this year (even with out big Buff). I think the Western match ups are equally as good as in the East. A rematch between DET and PHO, Northern California vs. Souther California, and will the Preds finally win a playoff series?

If Ryan Miller doesnt play or really is hurt, Flyers can make it to round 2.  Canucks will send a statement to all teams especiallly the Hawks they mean business this year and send them off in style 4 game sweep.     The best and most intriguing series..... Coyotes and Wings.  Can Wings actually have one of those falter playoffs or will they run over the west like they usually do once every 3 yrs lol.

just like last year: they might steal a round or 2 with goaltending, but when your forwards are all little sissies, you wont ever have a chance to win 16 games.. sorry :(

 Amazing first round predictions.. leading all my playoff pools at work.. 7-1 record including picking 4 series exactly right in games... if only boston won game 6 would have been 5 of 8.. so on to semis picks.

4-4 in the first round (if only the sabres and pens could have gotten it done in game 7's!!)

Of course i am hoping for the Canucks to get smashed... like everyone else in the world... their lack of toughness is going to bite them any minute now.. I would say there are clearly 4 better teams still left in the playoffs than the Canucks.. but should be able to get past the least talented team left (Nashville).

Nashville is the only good team left. If anyone else wins, the NHL is fixed.

7-1. so pretty solid first round... only getting hawks wrong because cant pick canucks.. i'll stick to my eastern conference prediction capitals in 6... boston in 6...

 

in the west ill take the predators in 7... and the sharks in 6...
