Seriously???

Seriously? That Atlanta/Nashville deal went through??

Nas 1, Nas 2, Nas 5
for
Anton Khubdobin
Dana Tyrell

???

Leddy and Aston are a wash.

And don't tell me that it's because Franzen > Turco; both are UFA in 2 years time. The only relief I can see here is cap, but is that really worth a 1st and 2nd round pick??

i was going to be 4 million over cap space.. he drove a hard bargain..  when no one offers for turco.. when i made a public auction on him.. i have no choice but to succumb to his terms... it may be a bad deal in your eyes... but the deal needed to be done so there are no season suspensions for being over cap

I figured that this was a cap issue and I get that... but couldn't you have just bought him out? You've got $20 mil in the bank? That's a pretty hefty price to pay.

well thats my 2nd issue.. i spent sooo much money this offseason on broduer.. now i have to make sure that money stays in the bank cause i know i ll probably be losing money come seasons end.. another reason the trade needed to be made instead of a buyout

Or you could have put Turco on waivers and kept the 1st and 2nd pick.

waiver would have lost him for nothing.. i want something value out of it. he is playing with chicago now so his rates should improve slightly from last year by playing with them

franzen is a top freakin tier player who @ 1 mill is one of the best bargains in all of the league. can play C/Lw/Rw.. is a huge asset..

+ huge cap relief which in league and how many teams with realistic look and a NEED for a goalie have 5 mill cap space??? not many at allllllll.. getting any kinda value on turco at all is a bonus for nashville..

and dana tyrell is good kid who will be a solid 3rd liner for tampa for longggg time.. worth a good pick himself.

alsssssoo

kimo timmonen was moved for 2 1sts in this league so timmonen could play 20 games at the end of the season...franzen @ 1 million with his position ability is one of the top tier assets in the league..

i think the league bias against atlanta and trades we make is becoming so tired and pathetic its embarassing for the league, and restricts everyone from trading all together because of fear "ohh gosh is another well respected G.M (such as urself Dave) going to go public and comment trying to embarass me??"

why would g.m's or teams trying to change their ways of losing (la, nash, wash) and giving up some of their futures (like brassard, barker, + + for a 2 yr asset in markov) continue to do it when their are g.m's bashing them trying to embarass them..

run your team. make your offers, make your trades..

Sorry Kirk, I try not to get involved with the deals, but this certainly looks like a blatant aggressive use of the gun against dave's head on this one.

I don't have the option of being the one who votes on these deals, but for this one i think maybe we should get more of a thorough look at the deal, and reverse it if need be , which I agree it should be.

Kirk had no gun to my head.. call it more as the person at the right place at the right time.. I was the one who initiated conversations regarding Turco... he originally was asking for another player on my team then we reverted to my situation of trading a goalie..

no one should fault kirk on this one.. if you want to put the clock on this trade... i have my reasons which i can fully explain to both bryce and eric in a private conversation with them
