Pre-Season 2010

Step 1 -  Finalizing rosters for the waiver draft.

Step 2 - A quick pre-season will be run with the finalized rosters. The roster freeze will remain in effect, as will the waivers rule for pre-season. It would be best just to keep a set roster and stick with it.

Step 3 - In the mean time coaches will be re-rated, along with coaches will have their contracts taken care of. If your coach had 1 year left on his contract last year, you will have a chance to re-sign him.

Step 4 - Finalize Pre-season, Waivers, Coaches within 2 weeks and then kick off the regular season.

Do we need to be under the cap for pre-season? What is the set date that we need to be under the cap?

Thanks, LW

Farms off for pre-season.

Cap compliance is by your first game.

BRHL Mobile, and other small issues like that will be finished, but are on the back burner till I finish the more pressing issues.

I'm 65% done with coaches after spending more than you guys probably want to know on them.

Coaches, coaches e-mails to teams needing to re-sign coaches and an overall explanation of how you can change your coach will be done tomorrow night.

After that, I will complete the waiver rules. Just so everyone knows, I am keeping track of the rules, and administering them as we go, even if they aren't written down yet. That being said, no one has lost a player yet that they were unaware of them losing.

After that, I will likely polish off the rules page. Cleaning up some explanations that have been further explained on the board.

I will then likely fix up some of the issues in transition from last season to this season in the portal. Please post any errors in the errors thread. I will get to them eventually. And unless they are an issue where you don't have a player that you should, the error is likely superficial, and isn't actually affecting anything, except for the look of certain pages. That being said, please remember that the League Index is the truest representation of accuracy.

I hope to start the season on time. Coaches and the rules are the only pressing issues that I'd like to get done prior to the season starting, so I don't foresee any delay.

FYI, e-mail is probably the best way to get a hold of me. As I'm usually working on the league and don't go on ICQ, as I have been known to get sidetracked.

I don't think there is much else. But I will keep you guys informed if anything changes.

The "penalty" settings seem a wee bit high... So far the games are averaging about 50 PIMs per game.

But aren't we playing all games against our own division?

They might be rivarly games, which usually have a ton of penalties.

Can that be adjusted?  I remember in playoffs last year there were over 120 PIMs in a couple of my games.  I am fine with a couple extra PIMs in those games, but the rivalry setting is bordering on ridiculousness IMHO.

I tend to agree. 108 PIM's in my last game.
