State of the BRHL2

With the Regular Season in the final stretch, I felt now was a very good time to share with you as to what's going from my end. Bryce will likely follow up with something, should I missed anything from his point of view.

 - Playoffs are going to start Tuesday Night. Games will be simmed on a day-to-day basis. Not going to race through the most important time of the season.

- Playoff pool, hosted by Dave Barbosa will start at the begining as well. Details: http://brhl2.activeboard.com/forum.spark?aBID=85830&p=3&topicID=35970739

- Also, Bryce is very likely to organize a World Championships for GMs who aren't tied to a playoff team. More details likely to follow from Bryce.

- Make sure you keep an eye on the new ratings. As the saying goes, "Speak now or forever hold your peace."

- All-Star game will also happen at the end of the season. I will likely be on top of this near the end of next week. So expect some information sent your way.

- During the Off-Season, and possibly during the playoffs, Bryce will also be getting GM's in line who need to pay for the appropriate seasons.

- Teams can still submit their 4 RFA contract offers to the league. I did an update a week or so ago, and will likely update next week.

- There will be money given to teams based on activity. Not a ton, but a decent supplement.

- To give you guys a snapshot of our off-season schedule, you can expect this order:
Conclusion of playoffs
Awards
Payments / Payouts
Turnover / Recruitment (No number on this is set, just a logicial presumption)
Official kick off of the Off-Season (Invites have already been mailed out, lost you address Kirk, sorry) AKA Trading Opens
Entry Draft
Deadline to tag / sign RFAs
Unrestricted Free Agency
(Waiver Draft?)
Pre-Season and Pre-Season torunaments
Season 5 Starts / Islanders Dynasty Begins

- To make it easy on yourself, and to stay within good standing of the Commissioner's we urge you to keep your pre-arranged deals sensible. Also, no trade is even up for debate of confirmation until trading offically opens. No exceptions. Also x2, please keep in mind the possibility of some GMs not returning next year.

- Tasks will likely be available all off-season long. Some teams are in need of some cash.

- Am I forgetting anything BRHL2 related?

Let me also take time to personally thank Rob Botham, Steve Vardy and Gareth Evans for their help this year. Rob has done a tremendous job with running the BRHL Europe, Steve is has done exceptionally well with running the International Tournaments, and Gareth has helped me out a lot personally with keeping track of endless and small tasks.

Bryce did some things too, I think.

The BRHL Juniors are also wrapping up, the league will continue next season.

I'm really looking forward to all the minor headaches I get running the BRHL Champions League. I think all the GMs involved will enjoy it to see where their team stacks up against everyone else and see who has truly built the best team in the BRHL Empire.

I think that's about it. I hope you guys are enjoying the league(s). By, the looks of it you are. It makes the countless hours Bryce, myself and everyone else who has a hand in the production worth it.

Quick followup.

1. I will be getting things put together for WC this week. Expect it to start shortly after the playoffs start.

2. I've been extremely busy at work, and had minimal time. But I should be getting freed up semi-shortly.

3. We say it every year, it never happens, but please make arrangements to get your fees paid in time for next season. Once the playoffs are complete, that is the last step we wait for to begin the offseason.

4. If you are not planning to return please let me know so I can make plans and get a head start on recruiting (though I already have a small lineup).

5. As Erica alluded to, any pre-arranged trades are between GMs only. NOTHING is official until it comes accross our desk AFTER trading has opened.

6. Islanders will still suck next season.

7. Erica said it, but it needs repeating. Thank you to everyone for their hard work and assistance in making the league roll. Specifically Botham, Gareth, Ken and Steve for their work on the admin side of the league(s), and of course to Erica.

Just wanted to be the first to say thanks for both Eric and Bryce for all their work in keeping the leagues going not often to you see a league run this long with such dedicated Commish's.  Also thanks to the other GM's that helped out!

I would also like to thank Eric and Bryce for all the hard work it takes to run this league.  You guys do a great job making it fun and interesting for everyone.

I'd also like to thank fellow GM's for making this league the best league out there!

Watch out for the Kings next year!

I too would like to give a huge thanks to everyone involved in the BRHL hockey universe especially Bryce for the initial invite to join.

Looking forward to the playoffs, my first offseason, and also being able to manage my teams from right the beginning of next season.

Cheers!

I would also like to thank them. You guys are brilliant.

Just taking a poll, but anyone in the league interested in joining together to get them a thank you gift? If we had 20 guys at 10 dollars a pop, I could find authentic NHL jerseys on Ebay and get them shipped to their houses?

Any interest?
