KHL returnees

Although it took some strong will-power, I kept Jiri Hudler on my roster.  I had him signed and set up for one more RFA signing last offseason prior to leaving to KHL.  If he returns like many are expecting, will his contract years drop 1 for next season's sim?  I don't think it will be right to lose a player to UFA because he decided to go play elsewhere for a year.  I'm not sure if this issue was ever addressed, but I think it should be

From the rulebook

Retirees / Foreign Players
1) If a player did not play at least 1 in the NHL or AHL in the prior season, he will not receive ratings and will be ineligible for the corresponding BRHL season, regardless of if they went to Europe, retired, played strictly ECHL or were injured the whole year.
2) These players will go back on the prospect list, and their contract years will continue to run.
