this was last years... so here is my big time beef... KArl Alzner didnt make it last year but played in the NHL.. and now this year he makes it top 50.... however on the vice versa.... JVR made it last year on the top 50.. heck he was the top guy.. now he is in the NHL this season and he doesn't make it???

where is the consistancy.. one year someone plays in nhl and doesnt make it but makes it next year.. then another guy does make it and then plays in the nhl then is replaced....

and adding to my big time beef and discussion how can a blue chip how many times can he be in there.. Jonathon blum has been on for two years now.. like i think my guys should be there too... i dont know.. but this definately has to be looked at.

I think it has to do with how many games they've played.

still it doesnt make sense with the number of games played.. cause like i said alzner played 20 games in the 08-09 season and wasnt on the top 50 and this year he is... and JVR was not in the NHL in 08-09 and was a top 50 prospect and now he is in the nhl 09-10 he is now off the list..

i also agree with boedker im not sure how that is dealt as well.. we have to look into this.

I agree. The problem is that an organization like Hockey's Future has a distinct dividing line on what a prospect is. Once they are a certain age or played a certain amount of games, they are no longer a prospect.

In the Hockey News, they are more subjective as to what a prospect is.

Personally, I don't have the answer.

The issue with The Hockey News rankings is it's the freakin' HOCKEY NEWS! The National Enquirer of hockey magazines. Mike Brophy is an idiot. And as the editor it just trickles down throughout the entire mag.

it seems like whenever they deem the guy to be an NHLer they keep him out of it.

Somehow Bozak is on the list, but whatever i'll take it.

Boedker being on there is a joke...almost 100 games into his career.
