Nothing to do at work...lets see how things are shaping up for the Wings Future. These are the most NHL ready prospects the team has. A lot of depth at the defensive position.
Brock Bradford -C- Put at the top of the list just for you, Bryce :) 19 goals, 32 points in 28 NCAA games this season. Looking like a late round steal for the Wings.
Alex Goligolski -D- Leading rookie scorer in the NHL when he was sent down to the AHL to clear roster space for Whitney and Gonchar. Will be in the NHL full time next season, either with the Penguins or another team after a trade to get Crosby a winger.
Matthew Hunwick - D - Is a mirror image to Goligolski. Like Goligolski, Hunwick has smooth skating and a great first pass. Like Gogo, Hunwick got a shot in the NHL due to injurys and made the most of his opportunity. 15 points in 38 games, he really stepped up with the increased icetime he saw during Ference's injury. Also similar to Goligolski, his name has popped up in recent trade rumors.
Ben Lovejoy - D - 27 points in 53 AHL games. Plays a smart game, and is flourishing in the AHL this season, rewarded with a callup to the big club for a cup of coffee. Could develop into a 2nd pair dman on a weaker NHL team, but likely heading towards a bottom pair or an AHL number #1 dman.
