Bruins make big deal

The Bruins have announced that they have completed a multi-player deal with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Following iwth Shuck's long history of dealing for UFA's near the deadline, the team has picked up 3 of them from the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Coming to Boston are defensemen Hal Gill, Mathieu Schneider, and forward Sami Kapanen. Leaving Boston are Shane O'Brien, Ales Kotalik, and Phillys 7th rounder.

"It may look like we dealt alot in this deal, but the market value for Kotalik was non-existant. He had no future in our top 2 lines, and brought nothing to our third line. Getting Sami back this season gives us a versatily guy, who can play PK. Hal is expected to pair up with Bruno Gervais on our third unit, while Mathieu will likely pair with Spacek on the second unit."

Obviously a playoff push was the first consideration for this deal, but the team is happy to rid themselves of Kotaliks deal, and this will allow them the flexibility needed still this season, and down the road to make a few more deals.

In other Bruins news, the team announced that Pavel Datsyuk has been placed on the IR for 2 weeks, upon his return, the teams lineup should look something like this.

Datsyuk-Getzlaf-Hejduk
Radulov-Boyes-Ponikarovski
Gagner-Malhotra-Perrin
Kessel-Devereaux- Kapanen

Phaneuf-Hannan
Spacek-Schneider
Gill-Gervais

Miller
Mason

Replacements
Moore-Ortmeyer-MacDonald
Smid-Hendry-Finger

The Bruins Lineup is expected to look like this when Datsyuk returns from injury.
