After a largely tumultous season in Boston that has seen the head coach fired, star Alexie Kovalev traded, and the last remianing original Bruin Joni Pitkanen dealt, the Bruins have seemingly turned the corner and are above .500 for the first time in a long time.
Since taking over as head coach, Paul Maurice has guided the team to a 6-1-1 record, and has seemingly solved the goaltending issues by playing Chris Mason and Ryan Miller almost 50/50.
"Chris has been great for us, we haven't lost with him in net since I have been here, and he has given us an option to keep Ryan fresh and 100 percent when he gets a start. Outside of the Anaheim game (which the B's won 6-5), Miller has been very good since the trade, maybe all he needed was some competition and a little more rest."
The team is looking at the next 5 games and thinking they can realistically go 4-1 in them to start gaining ground on seeding positions. It is no secret that the team would love to end up in the 6 spot so they can play Philadelphia in the first round. The Flyers are a mirage, a team built by a weak GM, that we have pillaged time and time again. They would be a cakewalk in the first round.
