When Co-GM Derek Thomson took over the Minnisota Wild the goal was to draft a team that could contend for a playoff spot right away, but still have enough youth to build around for the future.
After having a decent entry draft, the Wild traded away their best asset Marian Hossa, stunning a number of GM's across the league. The move certainly has paid off in the short term as Enstrom and Wolski have combined for 29 points so far this year and added some much needed scoring depth to a thin Wild line-up. Only time will tell if this was the right move, but the Wild are certainly moving in the right direction and on-track to achieve their first year goal of making the playoffs.
This reporter so far is giving the Wild a thumbs up for the first quarter of the year, here's hoping the Wild can keep the momentum going and make the playoffs this year.
