GM MacDonald sat wide eyed staring at the standings.
"How the **** did we finish 24th in the preseason?" was all he kept saying, over and over again. "We were one of the top teams in the league last season"
"I like our team's scoring, and the development of the forwards. Kane led the team in points, a great sign from the youngster. Our Defense was suppose to be our strength, but has really struggled. Not just the Defensemen, but team defense. Too many guys are negative, and that has to change. And, where the hell did our goaltending go? Fleury having a GAA of 3.77 in unexcusable."
When asked if changes were coming, GM MacDonald was hesitant.
"We will see how things go when the games start counting. We will juggle our lines, and move some guys around. We already traded a lot of our prospects and picks to get the players we have. We would rather find the solution from within then seeking out a trade."
"Right now, it's up to Coach Therrien and the veteran players to step things up and right the ship. Their jobs are on the line"

GM MacDonald was a man of few words after his team's latest loss.
"We lost to a ****ing expansion team....."
The offseason contender is currently 25th in the standings.

Therien is too busy trying to figure out why his franchise goaltender has a GAA of 5.79 after 3 games to come up with a big speech right now.
Whats that I hear on the horizon? If you listen closely, you can hear the winds of change starting to blow into Mo-Town. Will the RedWings throw the season away after a handful of games and rebuild? That all depends on how the next few days go. But, word out of the local real estate office is that Alfie, Pronger, Modano, Avery and a few other veterans have put their homes up for sale.
