"When I was hired on as the general manager of this team I set out a few goals for us as an organization. The number one item on that list was to get younger and more long term players. That why today I have dealt Marc Savard to the Philly Flyers for Scott Hartnell." GM Love said at a news conference at Rexall Place earlier today. "We traded away a great hockey player but Marc was a one year player, two if we tagged him but we also have Biron as a UFA to think about as well. We didn't want to lose one for nothing. In exchange we get Scott who plays a very phsical game and can score. He is a long term player that can be a member of this squad for a long time. We are really happy".
With the move Johan Franzen is now expected to shift to center and begin training camp penciled in as the team second line pivot possibly with newly aquired Scott Hartnell on his line.
