Ratings will be released very soon. Now a few quick hitters.
1. They are higher than normal on most counts as I did a few formulaic adjustments. I like it, it gives more discrepencies between guys at the top end as you have all been clamoring for.
2. There will be some flaws I did not catch upon my initial screenng, thats what you all are here for. Please post anything that looks way off here so I can adjust. (This is not an invite to bitch that player X should be higher than player Y)
3. As every year I will explain how OV means NOTHNG in the sim, big tough guys get higher rated on OV, but often aren't better than a guy with a lower OV rating.
4. This is an open forum to make known any glitches on any players. But they need to be concerns of an oversight, again not X is better than Y.
5. Any and all rerate grief should be directed my way. Via this thread.
6. I am gone July 1st for a week, so lets try and get these scanned through for any errors ASAP.
7. Ian started a thread with subtractions for your roster, if everyone could do that it would really help eric.
8. If someone wants to volunteer (and post here) to compiole a list of guys that are no longer rookie eligible and send them to Eric, it would be appreciated.
9. Thanks to Luke, Rob B, Ken, Kirk, Joe and everyone else for their assistance in this project. Special props to Steve and Eric for their assistance in teh conversin aspect. Anyone I forgot to mention I apologize, its late and I'm tired.
10. Should be an awesome season upcoming, I look forward to some intelligent and constructive reviews.
- I'm only uploading the ratings. Which can be found on the main page, at the top of the main section ( http://www.brhlhockey.com/brhl2/BRHL2LinkedRosters.html ). The rest of the corresponding links will come soon, but for now season 2 info will remain up.
- You'll notice some of the positions have been changed, that is in the process of being fixed.
And finally, I'll just reiterate what Bryce said: 2. There will be some flaws I did not catch upon my initial screening, thats what you all are here for. Please post anything that looks way off here so I can adjust. (This is not an invite to bitch that player X should be higher than player Y).
If I could make each letter in that as big as a galaxy I would. Please read that till you are saying it in your sleep :)
Thanks.

3. As every year I will explain how OV means NOTHNG in the sim, big tough guys get higher rated on OV, but often aren't better than a guy with a lower OV rating.
Defensemen OV is always heavily rated towards ST and IT, which Wideman lacks, so while he may be a 76ov, he's going to outperform 90% of th 77-78ov dmen. That is nothing I can adjust.
From Bryce regarding entry level contracts:
Guys like Erik Johnson who were not in the BRHL last year but have recieved ratings this year were given the minimum contract for now just to make the ratings work. These guys will have to have contracts negotiated. Sorry Luke LOL.
Regarding complaints on specific ratings for specific players, Bryce is reading these and checking his spreadsheet for errors as you guys post. Rest assured he is listening to you, and it is possible there could be errors which will get fixed.
Rgarding the missing players. Sometimes when merging the databases it can create name changes. For Example: Johnny Oduya could just be listed as John Oduya. Those will all be fixed. That is a reason why I have seperated the season 2 outputs and the New re-rates. Since there haven't been any trades, it will be easier to fix.
For the re-rate contestions, keep them coming. We know there are errors. We like having you point them out for us so we don't have to go through each and every team.

Keep listing them I may not reply to each but the changes will be altered. but DF unless its an input error wont be changed as they are stat driven, things like Zherdev's speed etc. are what we're looking for.
Again, please keep in mind I released thse straight to you guys to assist in finding glicthes, not argue that layer X should have his speed 2 points higher. Appeal time will come.
As for the DU concerns, remember it is over a GP the last 2 seasons. Now I havent examined these specific cases though I suspect itsa glitch. Same with any EX/LD concerns
ALSO NOTE I AM DELETING THINGS AS I PROGRESS THROUGH THEM SO ADJUSTMENTSWILL BE ON THE NEXT BATCH OF UPDATES. IM JUST ORGANIZING MYSELF, PLEASE KEEP THIS THREAD RELEVANT AND ON TOPIC
Only other concern I had was Kris Drapers defensive rating. He got the most ice time amongst forwards on the 8th best penalty killing team in the league.
Does that get factored in? His SH/TOI/G is low because DET doesnt take as many penalties but they still kill penalties better than other teams, just less of them and Draper is a big part of that as the go to guy for PK amongst forwards.
The guy with the most ice on the worst PKing team shouldnt get as many pts towards his defence rating/min of pk time as a guy on the best pking team.
You know what I mean? Just cause he was out there a lot and did a crappy job PKing shouldnt mean he gets a good rating, basically. I'm sure theres other examples in the league.

Unfortunately that is one of the statistical flaws we are up against, and isnt really something we have accmodated for in the past, though I will look how to implement it in the future.
One more quick thing, guys who played less than 10 NHl games last year will be reviewed this weekend and adjusted, you won't have guys liek Jannik hansen at 93 IT, Kyle Quincey at 80 DF etc...
Guy DF is stat based based on PK time/game and blocked shots/game. Fo forwards its a 90-10 split asto what its based on.
The valid argument is that some teams dont take as many penalies, and thats true4, but from a stat based point of view, there's nothing I can do about it.
Is it just me or do the PA ratings for the Dmen seem a tad low? I.e. Phaneuf and Markov were 6th and 7th overall (non-prorated) in assists last season and are both 73 PAs; Green, Jovo, and Zidlicky were 9, 10, and 11th overall for assists respectively and are 70-72 PAs. By my count, there are only 15 Dmen in the league that have a PA greater than 70.
(P.S. Mike Green is rated twice as a D)
We're aware of the Green error. Thank you.
DMen traditionally dont get as much assists as top end forwards, we do not differentiate raings for PA on anything but assists per game. Otherwise it artificially inflates defensive scoring numbers, which traditionallly have been pretty consistent BRHL-NHL.
Im going to be gone till the 10th. So your deadlien to post errors is midnight on the 9th. A quick note, IF you trade for a player aftr that deadline who has errors. They will NOT be adjusted, so please point s many as you see from all teams. Thank you.
Andy McDonald should have higher SP/SK - he won the NHL fastest skater in 2007 Bill Guerin should have lower SP/SK - he is slow Zhitnik and Sydor should have higher SP/SK - they're known as a decent skaters from what I recall
EX/LD:
Andy McDonald should have higher EX/LD Bill Guerin should have higher EX/LD Jay McKee should have higher EX/LD Duvie Westcott should have higher EX/LD
