Shocking news, he was really showing some promise this year.

I can only imagine how the parents and the rest of his family feel.

R.I.P. Luc Bourdon

Was he wearing a helmet?

All I can think of is that idiot Roethlisberger and how he cheated death. When are these guys going to wake up and realize that they have the world at their feet, and start using some common sense?

Ian either way is that whats important honestly?? and cheating death? how about its said, he got lucky.. even if he didnt have his helmet on does that make him a bad guy or a moron? no maybe it was his way or breaking free and feeling badass EVEN though he does have the world at his feet...- id rather him do that than smoke drugs- get down with hookers-gamble like many other pro-athletes do in NBA, NFL, to judge the guy when you dont know is sickeningly dis-respectful to a recently deceased 21 yr kid and his family.. common sense would be showing respect dude cmon..

I am from Alberta and played baseball nationals in miramichi NB. and during our 12 days their we went through bourdon's home town the year he was drafted and their were still posters saying, "way to go luc" "best of luck luc" in the windows of stores in the town even 2 months after the draft had happened. from what i would gather he was a down to earth town kid who everone loved. i never talked to anyone about him or anything but to have that kinda support is rare no??

In the spirit of giving Luc Bourdon a chance to be a part of a hopeful playoff contender again next year the devils and thrashers have agreed to an offseason deal of Luc Bourdon for SJ 4th rounder in the upcoming draft..

I don't want to get into a motorcycle or a helmet requirement debate here.  Just saying its a waste.

And Kirk, don't talk down on my remarks when you went and capatilized on the trajedy as quickly as possible.  You traded for him cheap long before his body is even in the ground.

I know that, George.

I just didn't think it was in the best taste. He made an offer for him before his body was even cold. Im sure he was the one proposing the trade, not Jordan.

I dunno, maybe im wrong. Just saying.

i thought it would be a cool way to show respect and possibly give the FHL luc bourdon a chance to win, as nj is rebuilding he thought it would be cool idea aswell, to say i took advantage of anything is stupid..

I'm sorry, but I just don't see the respect and honor the dead aspect you're selling.

I see a GM cashing in on a trajedy and trading for a rental defenseman for cheap, before his funeral services have even been held.

Shouldn't Bourdon just be retired from BRHL? would be kind of silly to have him in the league next year..

dude what are you talking about honestly, you came on thread saying it was his fault he had world at his feet. when are these guys going to realize that. and to use common sense.

my quote was

if you think im trying to prosper from this deal in anyway it shows what kind of compasssion you have as a person Ian.. im hoping to get luc into a couple playoff games possibly and get his name on a BRHL2 cup. In my view that would be something cool in HONOUR of a fallen player in the NHL circle. .

and in response to washington,, it would be similar to a retirement, they play the following season,, however this is an unusual situation so i see what your saying 100%...

I think if Kirk wants to give NJ a 4th for a strange gesture I think that's up to him. I don't think it's disrespectful really but thats just my opinion.
