Led by goaltender Niklas Backstrom and assistant captain Vincent Lecavalier the Chicago Blackhawks put an end to a brilliant run by the Columbus Blue Jackets and propelled the Hawks to their first BRHL Final.
"We want to congratulate the Jackets on a great run. The most satisfying thing about a run to the finals is the tremendous competition. You know you have accomplished something by getting here." GM Bachul commented.
"Our team has just been hitting on all cylinders and with some great coaching, we feel confident that we are going to put up a very tough test for whoever comes out of the East."
When asked who he hoped to face in the finals Bachul pined...."Isn't that like asking whether or not you want to get punched by either George Laraque or Derek Boogaard?"
