After a terrible goaltending performance in game one by both Henrik only have 15 saves out of 20 shots he was pulled but Emery played just as poor with only 3 saves out of 6 shots. the Thrashers got punished by the Flyers as it seemed Atlanta wasnt ready for the beginning of the series..

Game 2 saw the very unexpected return of Sami Salo, after getting hurt in the 5th game of the first round he missed the team game 6 win over montreal and also the first game of this series, what was originally a 4-6 week injury Sami recovered insanely quick.. when asked about it he said, "i used roger clemens trainer and its a miracle but im back!", Salo played 29 minutes and got an assist in his first game back.

Game 2 also saw a back and forth battle which saw the Thrashers down by one in the third the teams vetern forward jay pandalfo started to play hero for the night scoring with 9 minutes left to get the teams 4th and tying goal. In OT pandalfo completed the hero of the night scoring the OT winner unassisted on a flip out from his own end that bounced 3 times before skipping into the net from his own blue-line.

Loungo was clearly shaken with the goal as he snapped and broke his stick over the crossbar.. when asked after the game about the goal loungo was heard mumbling,, "im not tommy salo, im not tommy salo, im not tommy salo, im not tommy salo.."

hehe good one about tommy salo...

unfortunately for your weak offense, Luey on his worst night is Salo at his best...

Im just incredibly happy to see Stortini getting points, PIM, and hits... Can you believe the sim put him on the PP for some reason and he converted??

No need to look any further for examples of the sims randomness than that example... Perhaps Phillippe would like to complain about it some more here??

And BTW Hemsky must be tough as nails, because when I went over the replay of his injury, Penner did seem to breathe on him heavily, which caused Hemsky to collapse in a heap screaming Bloody Murder... and Mick McGoo   was quick to assess a double-minor.. How much of your playoff revenue is going directly to McGoo Kirk??

Looking forward to bringing the series back home and shutting down the razor-thin talent of Lundqvist and Emery AGAIN.

is the weak offense the one that lead the brhl2 in goals for the season??

im incredibly happy to see stortini on the ice aswell it shows ur teams loaded 3rd-4th line :) :)..... in a long series im guessing all ur opponents are happy to see stortini and his DI rating ;).. i have my goons to but they have at least useable rates (neil, staios, souray, brutal DI) but they all actually CAN help stortini is awesome KEEP playing him PP :)....

Penner is a mennonite imbreader and better have keep his head up with Zdeno Chara looking for revenge on what was one of the most disgusting boarding majors anyone has ever seen.. the team did appeal to the league for a suspension but nothing came of it as its rumoured that the g.m of the flyers and the commish of the league are seeing each other.(if u listen to rex he has been seeing my brother).

With the Hemsky cheap shot clearly in the team mind its rumoured that Chris Neil is getting specific directions to take out a lipstick twin..

why would anyone want to play in Atlanta???

Earlier in the season,

when the media swarm caught up with his new line-mate rod brindamour the vetern had nothing but great things to say about the young powerforward, "Dustin is a strong strong young kid, he is going to have a bright future hear in atlanta if he stays focussed. He reminds me of a guy i used to play with in eric cole just a beast of a forward who cannot be handled by one d-man hes like a great WR in football or Center in basketball a guy who dommands a double team."

With his enormous size and strength big things are expected of penner this season in atlanta.

With Penner being vilified by the Atlanta GM, it's a wonder any player would willingly sign for his team biggrin

he sure does have a knack for inconsistency did u see his team playoff choke drive??? nicely done hahahaha jk...

like former team member rod brindamour said though IFFFFF dustin stayed focused but rumours around atlanta have penner mis-behaving and impregnating his 1st cousin during the all-star break last all-star break, lol lol, hahaha

gareth you always seem to find things from the REGULAR season to bring up in the POSTSEASON, nothin to talk about with the blues currently we would all be interested to see how the golf tourny turned out like anahiem's report..

(thanx for CAPS REX is sure helps bring attention to my words hahahah)  -

should be an awesome series, with the 2 most active GM's pitting their teams against each other.

i think atlanta should win in 5 or 6..

i will say I am surprised to be scoring so many goals this postseason, especially with no "stars" at forward..

but my elite puck-moving dmen have a tonne of points and are no doubt contributing to the forwards success...

I am glad Luongo is finally playing like he should after having him for more than a season and a half now, with marginal success.

Even though he will no doubt deny this until he is blue in the face, Kirk has shown no restraint in mocking the **** out of my team... insisting he "ripped me off" by trading me penner for cole (even though penner has 8 Goals so far this playoffs)... etc, etc.

Just so that everyone isnt COMPLETELY and UTTERLY unglued by how little trash he has talked on the boards thus far...

BRING IT ON KIRK, IM IN THIS SERIES FOR REAL NOW!!!

PS Did u like the caps?

luongo's playing amazing...

oh yeah and kirk... i was out of the playoff picture after 40 games... i was trying to get back in it, granted i had a couple opportunities to make it, but columbus winning against boston then losing in overtime against detroit made my final result against the rangers irrelevant... if you wanted to look at a team that choked during the playoff run, take a look at edmonton who went 2-10-2 in the final 14 games to miss out on the playoffs...

i just find it funny how you write your articles, whenever i write an article about a player leaving, it's almost always amicably... probably because i'm usually in leagues that how the gms handle their players relates to how likely a team is able to sign a player...

and because you asked, the golf tourney went well... with the exception of klesla who broke two windows of hemsky's car... sorry...

After another no-show by the Thrasher goalie Henrik Lundqvist their are rumours that the team IS going to start Ray Emery for game 4 and not just bluf like they did in round 1...

Also making news at the morning skate for the Thrashers was the newly formed top line of Dany Heatley-Eric Cole- Shane Doan coach Trotz is looking for some dynamic play from this line it appears as they were seen doing PP and PK drills along with even strength. The second line is going to be Jokinen-Hecht-Hemsky looking to put in some goals aswell as hemsky and jokinen seemed to gel nicely together constantly burning the d-combo of ranger and staios,, on 3 straight 3-2's they undressed ranger so bad that coach trotz sent him to the locker early, then pairing smid and staios who did a little better but hemsky and jokinen seemed to be gellin like a fellon..

In a move that was much rumoured about the team sat franchise player Henrik Lundqvist for the Sugar Ray Emery.
In his first start in the postseason Emery played great stopping 19-20 shots. Sugar Ray had a shutout going into the late third but former Thrasher Jarett Stoll got a lucky goal as Emery went to play the dump in behind the net but the puck took a bounch of the stantion to the slot and Stoll put it into an empty net, with the score 3-0 the 1 lucky goal didnt hurt the team at all as they won 3-1..

The offense for the Thrash came from the second line of Hecht-Doan-Jokinen which was the order of the 3 stars for game 4.  Hecht had 2 goals and an assist, Doan with a goal and 2 assists, Jokinen chipping in a single helper but dominating in the faceoff circle and took a team high 5 shots and banged around the philly defense with 3 body checks.

On the night the Thrashers played a perfect "controlled emotion" hockey game. They came into the came the most penalized team in the playoffs with 30.2 PIM per game, but tonight they managed to completely stay out of the penalty box. (minus eric cole goalie interference but he only took the penalty because he had been high sticked by neidermayer and was bleeding so he took a run at loungo in attempt to rattle the goalie. the team was 4-4 for two minutes then went on a PP) The Philly powerplay that had been so deciding all series (6-14 in the first 3 games) didnt even get a chance to get on the ice.

After the game at the press conference second Star of the game Shane Doan when asked about the performance of him and his line tonight had this to say, "This was a must win for our team, we stunk out the joint in game 1 (8-2 L), battled in game two and got a few bounces and got a OT win, in game three we stunk out the place again (5-1 L), but tonight we got back to Thrashers hockey we dominated play tonight outshooting them by a bunch, we carried the play in their end of the ice allnight, Loungo had to be sharp to keep the score only 3-1 with 33 shots against and 9 powerplays he had a great game still. With Olli, Jochen and I personally the night was special because we got matched up against Regerh and Whitney and every time we see that match-up we think and feel like its one we should dominate. The PP for us tonight was key to get 2 special teams goals and not allow any always gives you a very good chance to win"

When asked about the coach's decision to start Ray Emery this is what Doan had to say, "No matter what he does or how much he pisses people off his talent is undeniable, he hadnt started in weeks, and then coach throws him into a must win and he came up huge."

When the question came about the teams top scorer Ales Hemsky slumping Doan quickly cut in with, " First off I dont think hes slumping, this is the NHL and when your the 9th best regular season scorer teams are going to put all of their focus in shutting you down, My line has thrived not having to face the other teams top defensive pairing. Also he does have 7 points in 10 games."

With that Shane had this to say on his way off the stage, "We are extremely happy about this win and think that with the new confidence with Emery in net and with us winning back home ice advantage that we should be able to get the job done for our fans in Atlanta."
