vikings outlook for their SB season

VIKINGS RULE..

TJACK- will be one of most debated players in nfl this offseason, "will the vikes be able to win with him at qb?"- the answer is YES..
the team isnt expecting him to be a donovan mccnabb like pro.. they want him to turn into david garrard. a guy who doesnt turn it over,
and is only asked to make 22-26 trows a game and move the chains 2-3 times a game with his feet. IF Tjack stays within what the coaches give him,
i think 2200-2300 yrds, 16-18 tds-and hopefully under 10 INT's

Ferrote is decent backup

john david booty will be used to hopefully develop into a guy they can trade like atlanta did with matt shaub.

QB's as of right now are 22-24 in NFL. (miami-KC-Balt-NYJ-BUF-SF-ATL(for this year)-TB (garcia licks ass IMO)-Wash(him and cambell are very similar)

RB

Adirian Peterson will progress with another year in the playbook (blitz pickup, waiting for the whole to open, pass routes, setting up screens,
and even more carries. he is the best back in the nfl allready after one year..

And Chester Taylor is perfect backup to AP...
Maurice Hicks as the 3rd back.

New fullback thomas tapeh is blocking fullback so he will help out the running game and pass blocking for tjack..

Backfield is top 2 in NFL. us and SD..

WR's

Bernard Berrian- perfect fit to what we needed at reciever. Is a true burner with a nice set of hands aswell.
had a great year in chicago with rex grossman and no running game,, should be able to put up improved stats with Tjack and Adrian Peterson.

Sidney Rice will be better aswell in his second year in the NFL.. is a going to develop into a solid number 2 reciever and be very similar
to a jerry porter (skill set not mentality).

Bobby Wade- decent number 3 slot reciever.

sleeper Andre Allison- has really good speed good see some time in the 4 WR sets..

TE's
Vincent Shianco- is decent blocker, didnt do much as a reciever, has dropped 15lbs this offseason. hopefully will be lil better in passing game.

Jimmy Kleinsasser is like a 6th O-Lineman when he is on the field on running plays and is a huge part of our running game.

Recievers and Te's would be 19-22 best in NFL.

Bryant Mckinnie- Mckinnie is a franchise tackle who protects the Qb's blindside. Mckinnie *COULD* be suspended for 4 games which would hurt for those weeks but hes not facing season long suspension or anything..

Steve Hutchinson- Seahawks fans and Shaun Alexander sure have missed this guy but Adrin Peterson loves it :).him or faneca 2 best LG in football..

Matt Birk- Probowl Center.

Anthony Herrera-played better than expected last year and with the experience they gained should continue to improve.

Ryan Cook- played better than expected last year and with the experience they gained should continue to improve.

Marcus Johnson- Artis Hicks-John Sullivan (3 yr starter at ND,) are the three backups a center-guard-tackle. solid depth..

They have one of the top 5 offensive lines in football..
Mckinnie-Hutch-Birk being the best left side in all of football..

offense would be about 10-13th best overall.

Why didnt you talk about the strength of the team which is the defense??

The team added the NFL sack's leader from last year Jared Allen, he instantly improves our pass defense, and secondary..
Last year they had zero pass rush and teams QB's had all day to find a reciever after they had broken free from coverage..
This year with Allen pressuring the QB the secondary will be much improved.

Ray Edwards the other starting end, he had 5 sacks and 4 fumbles in 12 games as a second year player..

With Jamie Mitchell-Erasmus James-Brian Robinson being situational DE's we have good depth their aswell..

Kenechi Udeze has a battle with cancer everyone hopes he beats..

they have the best run defense in the entire nfl with Pat Williams-Kevin Williams-in the middle of our defense. both are prowbowlers.
they signed ellis wyms a vetern to be their backup..
they also drafted a kid in the draft who dropped because of his cheating on a college test a florida state... fell to them in the 5th..

D-line top 2 in nfl now,, usthe vikes and the NYG have the two best d-lines..

Our Linebackers are above average aswell..
EJ Henderson plays at a probowl level behind the two DT he has infront of him. is Great against the run, solid at blitzing, does lack in pass coverage though..
Ben Leber is a good guy against the run and decent at blitzing the qb.
Chad Greenway is the pass coverage linebacker for us, he is very good at this and has the speed to run with any TE in the NFL...

the teams backup LB's are Heath Farwell (special teams ace) and Rufus Alexander (can play both outside LB spots.),,
Erin Henderson (EJ'S lil bro), (UDFA fell out of draft due to medical concerns, kiper, mcshay, mayock, all had him as a 2nd-3rd round prospect.
(IM hoping he could maybe develop into a solid backup.)

id have LB's 11-13th best in NFL.

Secondary

Antoine Winfield is a #1 corner and the best tackling corner in the NFL which makes him very good against the run which is huge in a cover 2 scheme.

Cedric Griffith big enough to matchup against other teams big reciever's,
has good man-to-man skills realy showed development and seemed to finnally understand the cover 2 in the last 4-6 games of the year.Had 92 tackles at Corner

Marcus Mccauley- Played pretty good as a rookie last year in the nickel role. got 3-5 starts when winfield was hurt..

Sapp is a dime corner what else can be said.

I think the combo of Winfield-Griffith will be similar to the two-some tampa had and used perfectly in the cover2. (barber-kelly)

Id have the corners around 10-12th best in nfl as a group.

Our Safety's are unreal-
Darren Sharper is a proven pro-bowl calibre player STILL. Has shifted from being a ball-hawk into more of a run stopper in recent years, has lost some speed.

New Addition Maddeau Williams is a perfect fit for what we need. Which is a centerfielder in the secondary. He's got top end speed,
giving him good range to knockdown or intercept pass's that are rushed from our d-line's pressure.

We traded up in the second to draft safety Tyrell Johnson who the team had as the 17th best prospect overall and kiper-mayock had number 1 safety aswell..

Michael Boulware was brought in to be the backup safety but he will be pushed by the rookie, and rumours have all-ready started he could be moving to OLB
and be a backup their.

our safety's with sharper-williams-johnson-boulware are top 5 in NFL.

our defense is top 5 overall forsure.. should be fun to watch..

I didn't know you wrote for the sports section of the Onion.  Should've guessed with all the Oiler articles.

For those interested in a non-biased article on the Vikings O-Line read here:
http://www.ultimateffstrategy.com/OLine/minnesota_vikings.php

Thomas Tapeh? HAHAHAHAHAHA
You forgot to mention you lost the best blocking Full Back in the NFL in Tony Richardson.

They have one of the top 5 offensive lines in football..
Mckinnie-Hutch-Birk being the best left side in all of football..

I will take Joe Thomas, Eric Steinbach and Hank Fraley ahead of them sorry. McKinnie is overrated, Hutchinson and Birk are very good but Hutchinson won't look as good with Marcus Johnson on his left.

The funny part is that Philippe's a fantasy football freak. I think i'll trust his opinion over a homer any day.

Just to add to my argument, I don't understand how a top 5 offensive line can rank 26th in the league in sacks per pass attempts? Sure first in rushing by a mile but as I wrote in my article, in 2 years the Vikings YPC without Tony Richardson was 4.1 as opposed to 5.0 with him.

why didnt you answer the question???? how will berrian keeping a safety deep all the time not allowing them 9 in the box going to hurt our running game...

and dude get real its widely known our o-line is one of the best 5 in football..

minny, NYJ, NYG, NE, and when healthy the Skins have a very good o-line.. cleveland-tampa-philly-indy all have solid lines but not dominate ones.

and the only left side i think is really close is NYJ left side D-Brick-Faneca-Mangold.. is the only other one i think is as good as minnesota's

Because that's my site and a lot of the information on there comes from non-homer Vikings fans.

Very well known that the Vikings have a Top 5 offensive line? According to what? They can run block (because of Richardson) but when you can't protect your QB, you're not a top 5 o-line.

FF geeks are hilarious in football conversations? We're talking about o-lines which has more to do with football than ff here... I think homers are even more hilarious than FFGeeks.

Oh and about Berrian... well if your offensive line is one of the worst in the league in pass protection (when you didn't have a single injury to the line), I don't think Berrian is gonna have the time to go deep.

richardson is a 40 yr old injury prone fullback.. to think hes the reason the running game was best in nfl is comedy.. how about its because adrian peterson is a freaking freak.

Then how do you explain the Vikings averaged 0.9 YPC per carry less in the 9 games that Richadson missed in 2 seasons?
They averaged 3.9 yards per carry in 2007 in the 2 games that he missed against the Lions and the Chiefs (bottom 10 defenses against the run in 2007).

Also how do you explain that Larry Johnson went from 5.2 YPC in 2005 to 4.3 YPC in 2006? If your explanation is Willie Roaf retiring well it's not the reason because he missed 6 games in 2005 in which Johnson averaged 5.1 YPC.

Adrian Peterson is a freak? Yes he's very good but then how does Chester Taylor look so good as well?

Nothing more I can say to argue against you if you won't acknowledge the obvious statistics, just wait and see this season and I'd be willing to bet that Peterson's YPC will drop from 5.6 to below 5.0, probably around 4.7 or so, maybe less if there's an injury on the line.

Like I said, Willie Roaf missed 6 games in 2005 and Will Shields? huh hye played all 16 games in 2006.

Didn't Kelly Holcomb also play in the week 4 game? When the Vikings had 155 yads in 22 carries against the Packers? oops
We also saw how Jared Allen helped the Chiefs stop the run for the other 14 games he played in the season.

Keep making up stuff, it's actually pretty funny comedy man.. ahahaha
