THN Top Prospects List?

Didn't this come out like a month ago or something?  Does anyone have the list of top 50 BRHL prospects to determine the payouts for that? I always enjoy this.

It's  THN...  The TSN is a typo that I swear I've fixed 5 times, but hasn't updated.

As far as putting a payout list, together. It will probably get done sometime with 1-2 weeks.

I'm happy with 4, congrats NJ- 8! wow.

One thing i'd like to bring up about this system and I'd like to hear the opinions of you guys. What do you think about the definition of a prospect?

I'm stymied.

For example. How is Price still a prospect when Peter Mueller isn't?

Okay, he didn't start the year in MTL, that could be it, but once again Letang didn't start the year in Pittsburgh and he's not on there?

Okay, well what about Brule, he started the year in CLB, had 78 games under his belt last year and 61 this year, but somehow he made it?

Theres always the concern that your star like Sam Gagner or Pat Kane make you 0 money?

Anyways I'd just like to hear your thoughts. Especially guys like chicago, i'd appreciate their opinion.

PS- one list I really to enjoy is the spring HF top 50:

I think having Kane or a player of that caliber out-weighs the payout, imo. Can't have both, so GMs can choose. Do you want the money, or a top of the line prospect.  I might be going out on a limb, but I think 90% of the guys here would take the player.

Thats moreless beside the point. Maybe I used bad examples in Kane and Gagner who made the jump to the NHL right out of juniors, same with Jordan Staal. These guys never appeared on top prospects lists cause they were NHLers before they could.

But guys like Peter Mueller, Erik Johnson, Jon Toews, Nicklas Backstrom, Milan Lucic, James Sheppard? All those guys appeared on top prospects lists for an entire year before making the jump to the NHL. They are still considered prospects in BRHL, so why wouldnt they be included in at least 1 of these lists for a payout?

With the setup we have, you cant get paid for a top prospect unless he takes at least 2 full seasons of minor league play before making the NHL after being drafted.

I agree with you, Im more than happy with what I got in toews and EJ but I just think the system is a bit skewed. No?

If they are playing in the NHL then they really aren't prospects anymore. I like it how it is. You are rewarded while you are waiting to use the players on your team.

Thanks George, I forgot about that. Fair enough. Just thought it was confusing we delayed the draft a year but we dont delay prospect rankings a year at the same time. But yeah, that is cake and eat it too...

I agree with Buff in the sense that when we delay the draft a year, essentially prospects should be delayed a year.. I know you can't go back, but i think delaying the draft a year may not have been the best idea. It also gives GM's who research their picks less of an advantage.
