The race for the Central Division is coming to the forefront during the last few weeks in the season.
Last Night, the Detroit RedWings narrowly defeated arch-rivals Chicago 6-5, to take a 5 point lead with 6 games remaining for each team.
It was an exciting game for sure, which saw 11 goals, 4 goaltenders, and the Wings coming back from a 5-2 first period deficit. The hero of the game was Chris Osgood, who came in and turned aside all 29 shots he saw in relief. Chris Pronger, Michael Cammalleri, Jeff O'Neill, Martin Rucinsky and Max Talbot all had two points a piece in the win.
Detroit has owned Chicago this season, going 6-1 against the Hawks. The battle for first place is far from over, the two face-off again for the last time in the regular season later this week. Detroit's magic number for the division is 7.
