Kings make 1st deal

The Los Angeles Kings have completed their first deal since being assumed control by league offices.

The team has sent Alex Ponikarovsky and Dal 3rd to Atlanta in exchange for Ales Kotalik, Pat Rissmiller and 4 million Cash.

The trade helps build up some funds so the team wont have to declare bankruptcy in the offseason, and feels that as soon as next year there should be a sizeable advantage to Kotaliks rates than Ponikarovskys. Acquiring Pat Rissmiller for a 3rd also helps the teams depth with a solid NHL guy who still has some potential.

All in all this deal accomplishes exactly what we are after, more deal surely to come as Michael Ryder, Cristobal Huet, MArtin Erat and Kimmo Timmonen have all generated interest. Everyone is available people!!!

Sources in Los Angeles say that the team has parted ways with Sean Burke, sending him across state to San Jose for 350k

"The market for a backup tender is crap." GM Shuck said, "We felt it best to pull the trigger now, help shore up some finances, and get our cap figure down."

Wade Dubliewiecz will be called up to bakcup Huet and Stefan Liv is coming off the prospetc list to man the pipes in the farm.

More surely to come.
