After Saku Koivu went down for a month, the Blues rebounded nicely from a poor losing streak to win four straight in four days with victories over Columbus, Vancouver, Carolina and Detroit. However, in the Detroit win, Klesla went out injured for a week. After a day off to regroup after a morale-boosting win over Detroit, the Blues faced off against a team who, on paper, is superior to the Blues even with a healthy roster for the Blues. However, the Blues manage to hold them in a shootout at 5-5. Bonk tied the game at 11:24 of the third period.
However, during that game, defensive specialist Alexandre Burrows went down injured as well, and with three guys out, the Blues took a heavy loss 5-2 to the Canadiens. The only positive news out of St Louis was that after the game, Klesla was able to skate in a full-contact practice and is expected to play in their next game against Colorado.
The Blues are in the middle of a two day rest after playing 6 games in 7 days. Alexandre Burrows and Saku Koivu remain out of the lineup for a week and three weeks respectively.
The Blues are looking for help, but with no draft picks available, the Blues are offering up goaltending prospect Jimmy Howard and Anton Khubodin, and other prospects like Dennis Persson and Carl Sneep to see what interest is out there for the Blues to acquire some help up front.
