I just noticed today that Division Winners don't necessarily get any type of payout for the accomplishment. This is a big achievement for a team to do. I would think you'd get like 10 bucks for it. The Presidents trophy winner already gets paid out, so really only 5 division winners would get paid. Pres trophy should be like 3x whatever the division winner gets I'd think though if this was something the league looked at.
All I know is things that teams hang banners for in real life should be recognized here I'd think.
What you guys think?

Personally, I think the lion's share of the money should to teams that excel. Since the rebuild payout is in my opinion terrible.(You get actually rewarded for guys who are perpetually not good enough to be in the NHL as opposed to guys that make it.)
Either way, I like the idea of promoting success in any form. Even if they didn't do it for division winners, rather paid out the three most improved teams from one year ago...or whatever....that is an idea too.
I think it is something to consider. There is already a payout for teams that get eliminated from the playoffs 1st round. I don't think these 2 should overlap.
