The atlanta thrashers made a couple moves today superbowl sunday.

The team had been after Sami Salo since they had heard he was put on the trade block. The team had made some offers to ottawa for salo but had been turned away... the Thrashers g.m then got creative and was quizzing the sens g.m about some d-men he'd do in a 1-1 swap. When their G.M said Lucas Krajicek is a d-man he would take 1-1 the team set out to try and re-aquire him from their most active trade partner the NYR. knowing that the rangers had an overflow of young d-men and that krajicek was a little bit down on the depth chart he would probably be avaible. the rangers had been inquiring about a guy they dealt to atlanta in MAP, the team added a couple mid round picks from their stash of picks and got a deal done.. minutes after the deal was accepted the team shipped out krajicek to ottawa and brought in sami..

Sami will pair with zdeno on the top line for even strength.. his strong offense should get him PP minutes also in atlanta. the team thinks this UFA addition could be a huge peice in the teams cup chase..

the team is currently shopping d-men for forwards.. with the d-pairings of Chara 83-Salo 76
