Once again the rebuilding continues in Pittsburgh with Bryan McCabe finding his way out of the Igloo, and making his way to a divisional competitor. We wish to make sure the deal is finalized before stressing all the details here, but although we were hoping for a little more, it turns out this was the best deal i could get at this time for Bryan.
This is to let Gm's know that the trade deadline is approaching, and even though my demands seem high, it is like buying a lotto ticket, if you don't play you can't win and although this deal took a solid week to finally iron out in the end it was worth it for both clubs.
I Guess what i am trying to say is any offer, good, or bad, is a starting point, as is any counter offer made. Knowing what is available for any particular player may not bring favourable results immediately but may pay dividends in the not to distant future.
Getting upset at what I am asking, or just simply wanting to see what I might be asking, will never get the deal done. All good Gm's will always have negotiations ongoing, to get the best possible deal, and i am no exception.
You might think my asking price is too high, i might think your offer is way too low. We don't need to agree, we just need to find room to negotiate if possible, and leave on good terms no matter how it ends.
Too often GM's get upset at each other over what they perceive to be ridiculous asking prices, or offers, and leave on bad terms. unfortunately this does nothing but leave a bad taste in your mouth and never gets the deal done.
No matter how you feel, we should always try to see both sides of the equation, and no matter how we feel on the situation learn to accept it for what it is, and either negotiate it or move on.
Understand, I am not mad at all on this, but certainly disappointed on the way things are handled sometimes.
