1/4 (well almost) year NHL suprises/disappointments?

Suprises- NYIs not in the basement, Stillman with 29 points in 21, cullen with a ppg through 25 games, and lastly crosby not leading the league yet:D

Disappointments- Cheechoo is the glaring one. Can't even get mins on his team let alone top 50 scoring. Souray is a bust. Vanek has been okay but not what his money would suggest. Flames are brutal, right now at least.

the best bust... hahaha... was watching hockey central on friday nite... and were talking about sergei samsonov... NO GOALS yet this season... they were making fun of him soo much.. telling the switcher to roll the tapes on samsonov... but there is NO FOOTAGE of him at all.. for this season...  i couldn't stop laughing...

and why souray a bust??? he played like 10 games is all before getting hurt...

i mean I am a guy who gave you a run-down of his repeated mistakes during Opening Night.... and even I wouldnt call him a bust... his defense is always going to be suspect...

you were probably referring to him as a bust because of his low offensive numbers, but he was never going to match last seasons total anyways...

The oilers paid him money which eh should match his last seasons numbers. I would rather have souray off my team than on it:D

Come on he had one good season. His career highs before was 39 and 35.

I guess I wouldnt say he's a bust in general, just based on his contract he'll always be a bust unless he does put up 60 points and even then, he gives up tons of goals every year.

suprises- Patrick Kane- thought he wouldnt have the strength to be in the show and be effective, but he is the real deal.. Tom Gilbert- Has looked very good all year... David Booth- been trying to get him from phil, but he wont move him lol, this kid is a good young player in my opinnion has had a fast start to 6 goals already only playing 3rd line but is moving up the depth chart.

disappointments- Sidney Crosby- in games ive watched he hasnt been the best Penguin.. he still is special player but he looks human this year.. Mikka Kipprusoft- Really slow start for him and the team is struggling because of it.. was he a guy just trying to get paid? who knows.

lol cirk I was starting to actually respect your hockey opinion...Until a couple comments. :D but you're still a good guy anyways..Every time Crosby steps foot on the ice he's the best player, you're right though 20 game point streaks to start the year aren't really impressive.

you want to hear a sick streak going on still... Henrik Zetterberg.. 27 game home ice scoring streak...  can he be stopped and remember thats home ice.. so this is close to being an actual year.. cause home teams get 41 games a season...  december 7th vs st. louis last yr. is the last time he didnt score a point at home

If Crosby hasn't been the best Penguin, I don't know who has been....this guy is 2nd in the NHL in points and has had to play with Recchi for most of the games he's played....

 That's true.

Dissappointments:  Darryl Sydor, brought in as a UFA to be scratched for Letang. Injuries to my BRHL2 Flame Players. I knew Henrik Lundqvist was good, but to be that great with that Defense...

Surprises: Chuck Kobasew. Johan Hedberg. Niklas Backstrom not suffering a sophmore slump.

just wonderring if some might agree with me now.. i saw it at beginning of year its understandable most of you are just seeing it now.. i think geno is leading nhl scorer correct??.. which would probably say he has outplayed crosby some nights when both are in the lineup...

your point is invalid though... crosby has 63 points through 46 games... if you take his point total, divide it by the number of games and multiply it by 60 (the same amount of games malkin's played) then crosby would be on pace for 82 points, three more than malkin...

Crosby is the best Penguin, hands down.
Malkin has stepped up big time since he went down and has shown everyone he can lead a team. Once the playoffs start, you will finally see who the best Penguin is.

Only reason for that statement is that you're on drugs.
