The BRHL2 informed New York Islanders GM Jay Latkoczky that he has been relieved of his duties tonight.
The league had felt that it couldn't rationalize or justify recent and past movements made by the organization to the handful of GMs and BOD members who had questioned them. As a result we felt it was best to part ways.
Jay will receive 100% of any payouts made from where he left off.
No one can deny his activty and enthusiasm for the league, we just feel this is for the best direction of the league to go in. For the team to regain solid stature in the Atlantic Division.
For now the Islanders are under league control until further notice.

"wow this is news... jay ur activity to this league has been second to none but with the outlook of you team this isnt a complete surprise..sorry to see you go jay, good luck in ur fhl career.
I hope this isnt something that cause's an overreaction on your part
Wow. I have never received a warning. None of my trades have been vetoed. I offered the other day to pay next season's fee (and certainly would have paid the following season or two if long term viability was an issue, to give me a year or two to show the long term 'expansion team' approach taken).
This comes entirely out of the blue.
I am stunned and very puzzled.
I wish you all the best, and a couple of you know me in other FHL leagues, and I'll see you there.
This isn't personal, but if it has to be debated, Jay, I don't think that the problem is anything other than your understanding of value.
Trading away assets continuously for less than value, putting your team in a position of being a bottom feeder for many years.
You have no decent players on your pro roster. No blue chip prospects.(There might be about 7-8 good ones, the rest are pretty much ECHL fodder.) On top of it, your first pick in the upcoming draft is in the fifth round. And you are trying to trade away what could be the first pick in the 2008 draft for nothing.
You are a good guy. You are active. If that was enough, and the league didn't care if a team was perpetually terrible, then nothing would happen.
In this case, and I am not on the BOD, so I didn't partake in the decision, but I understand that the consistent moving of assets. Maybe you don't understand that 6th and 7th round picks have a negligible value...but they do. They are pretty much worthless. So you trade your decent assets for a hill of magic beans, and then the league sees that. Just like in the NHL....if a team is consistently bad, which yours will take several years to even try to turn around by another GM, you don't even have any assets worth trading to do that.
A team's goal in any league is to try to win a championship. The NYI team will never win a championship with the talent assessment that is going on.
Again, you are a decent guy....and active and do all the decent things a GM should do, but your talent evaluation skills are suspect.
We will miss your activity though...good luck to you.
I am actually cofused by him. He came across like he actually had a clue on what was going on. Although I think a warning would have been appropriate some time back ( if he did not get one ). Having said this he is not my first choice to be moved for something like this.

jw do the trade stipulation's jay had in place still count?? like the coyotes not being able to deal mcdonald or nolan or guerin for a year.. with jay gone does this stipulation too? just a question..
I am going to go ahead and suggest that the stipulations should remain in place. No reason to go changing trades that have already been made a long time ago based on those stipulations.
