CALGARY, AB - The Southern Alberta Trade Embargo Association announced today that there would be a Trade Embargo enforced in the following cities: Banff, Calgary, Lethbridge and Medicine Hat.  The embargo comes on the heels of the recent and constant influx of offers from Northern Georgia and several other parts around Continental North America. The embargo is and will be enforced on any and ALL means of value leaving or entering the aforementioned cities.

More to OurselvesThere were some affected companies who were directly affected as a result of the news. Jim Stewart, a Oil reserve director had mixed reactions. "While we won't be getting paid for our services. We'll be able to keep our product in the area and help drop prices a bit. Nothing like possibly being able to fill up for 62¢ a litre."

Another company was the pride of southern Alberta, the Calgary Flames of the BRHL2. GM Eric Dolegowski met the embargo with open arms. "Couldn't be happier. Really. Even if I want to, I can't accept any of those lowball offers. It's not like I did anyways, but now the offers won't even reach my office.  All lines have been cut.  We're shut off to the outside world pretty much." While there have been rumors that the Flames were likely to keep their team intact for most of the season, it now looks for certain.  "You hear me Kirk Shuck? We can't deal. That is, unless it's Gaborik for a 2nd."

Another rumor out of the government offices, is that the embargo could be lifted for certain goods that southern Albertans would not be able to self-sustain themselves. The Calgary Flames are not considered under that list of items.
