The Boston Globe has just learned from a source inside the Bruins office that the team has acquired the 5th overall pick in the upcoming draft. This has not been made official as of yet, but apparently it is strictly a picks based trade. Stay tuned.

In other Bruins news, the team announced yesterday they had acquired Tor 3rd, MOn 3rd, TB 4th, Min 5th, Min 6th, Min 7th from the Wild for Sergei Brylin. The organization released the following statement this morning. "We wish Sergei the best with the Wild, we had planned on him being a member of our team, but our scouting staff has a number of players they are targeting in late rounds, and we need to acquire the picks to do so."

Also last night, the team dealt a 5th round pick to Ottawa for Jody Shelley. Shelley is slated to be the teams goon for the season ahead, and will almost assuredly see regular action.
