Off-Season Schedule

The BRHL2 Off-Season Schedule is as follows:

Rules (July 8th)
Make Payouts (July 9th)
Fill Remaining GM Spots (Throughout Off-Season)
Accept GM Franchise Fees (July 16th)
Trading Opens (As soon as the Ratings are released)
Ratings Released (As Soon As We Possibly Can)
Entry Draft (July 29th)
Deadline to sign RFAs / Tag UFAs (August 12th)
UFA / RFA Signing Period (August 19th)
Pre-Season (10 days prior to start of BRHL2 season)
Start New Season (Same night as start of the NHL)

The Rules of the BRHL2 have been overlooked by the Commissioners and the B.O.D. recently. They will soon share their contributions with the rest of the league, so that every GM can comment for amendments to the rules.  The rules will try to be finalized by July 8th.

The Payouts for accomplishments within the BRHL2 will be made as soon as possible.  Bryce will be in charge of them. So when he gets around to them, likely by the 9th, they will be made to the GMs in their preferred payment method.

The BRHL2 will be managing to fill the remaining open GM spots within the league. As we're sad to see the GMs go, we understand that it's a familiar process in the FHL world. We're in the process of looking for dedicated GMs to fill the league out.

If not already made through differing payments to pay for Season 2's Franchise Fee, then the BRHL2 is set to accept payments starting July 16th.  Please await confirmation and notification on payment issues before you act, Thanks in advance!

The lifting of the BRHL2 trading freeze will be made official when the Ratings are released. The BRHL2 Commissioners were pleased by the level of activity in the league, despite there being a halt on the trade front.

The release of the BRHL ratings will be set into the BRHL2 as soon as possible. This another issue where Bryce has more experience than I do.

The much disputed BRHL2 Entry Draft will take place on Sunday July 29th. It will take place at 8PM EST, and will be handled like the original BRHL2 League Drafts. As well as for the GMs who are in the BRHL1, the draft will run the same as their entry draft.  For those who don't know, the draft will be held via mIRC. More details will be released in the coming days as to the specifics (room name, how to access, etc.)

August 12th will mark the deadline for teams to reach an agreement with their Restricted Free Agents as well as a deadline to use your franchise tags on current players. Failure to qualify a RFA will have the player test the open market (please check the rules for compensation listings).

The beginning of the BRHL2 Free Agency period will be start on Sunday August 19th. More info will be released on the specifics as to what to expect, as we're more than a month away from crossing this bridge.

The start of the BRHL2 pre-season is dependant on the start of the NHL season. We're gauging ourselves to start on the same night as the NHL. With a Pre-Season to commence 10 days prior to the puck dropping on the regular season.

The BRHL2 Off-Season is set to start and finish with a bang, leading up to another great season. The BRHL2 will likely keep a steady pace for a remainder of the summer as there has been a fairly long break from the end of the BRHL2 Playoffs till the announcement of the Off-Season.

In terms of the structure of the league, the Commissioners couldn't be happier. They feel that the league is ahead of the curve of a league that is only a year old, and it is only looking to get better. The league is looking forward to a very exciting Season 2, as it should be one for the ages.

Not sure if this has been addressed, but will we have a chance to make offers to our pending UFA's before they hit the open market?

No, it's in the rules, all you have are your tags.

I kinda like how it is. I dont think many big name UFA's DONT test free agent market.

One other question. Are we ever allowed to discuss extensions before a contract expires? Ala Joe Thornton, Jarome Iginla, Robyn Regehr?
