Is there a rule that 5 years is the longest contract we can offer?
With all the 6 year deals getting signed lately, and some even longer, can a GM here sign some of those deals?
Id initially say no since there are some dumb GMs (myself included) that lack experience in signing contracts and could end up having a few too many bad ones around our league.
I think we should stick with the 5 year max......Player movement is important in FHL....if all good players are signed super long term then it can get real boring
While it would be awesome to be a carbon copy of the NHL, and their interaction with the CBA. It's almost impossible. I think there needs to be a strong give and take between calabrating the rules and regulations to an FHL structure.

I agree here, although it would be interesting to have a few large contracts floating about, with the 5 year max, it induces a little more action and shuffling which is never a bad thing in FHL.
Keep up the good work boys, the hockey minds are working out there and its good to see, even when the regular season is over. Some would even argue that this is the most important part of the season, in some ways it is for my team anyway. Peace- Joe DesMarais NYRGM
