What I have seen work best in any league is if you have off season turnover of GMs, you should do a dispersal draft.
In a league where all the franchise fees are paid yearly, it will allow for a new GM to put his mark on his team immediately, while giving a guy a shot at some decent assets.
If a team is absolutely in the ****ter, it is going to be tough to get a guy to pay regulary for several years before turning it around.
I think what he is suggesting is: Take all the teams that have no GM, put all those players in a pool, and have a mini-draft, much like our original draft procedure. I don' t mind the idea, especially if there are 3 or more teams cuz then those new GMs have a more balanced chance as they enter the league at the same time. You could even have provisions to stengthen the pool of players (add some older players that played in the NHL last year but are not in the BRHL2 yet, or something like that....)
I realize i dont have money involved here, but i always thougth it would be great if you could get the guys to "own" the teams, some how get them to pay a few seasons in advance and then when the want out they have to sell the team for what ever they want. I realize this would be hard to do but if you get enought guys into it it could work. If someone wanted out but had a great team it migth be worth more than the $50 a year, where as a bad team might be worth less. It would also be a way to try and keep gm's in the league if they have a bad team and can't sell it to any new gm's
liek i said this woudl be hard to do but would be very interesting to see done.
I like Bruins Idea too, I thought about that too. A good team could be something that makes money regularly if well maintained. So that is worth something.

I asked Bryce and Eric if for example, a GM was leaving could they put the team for sale on ebay or something.
They aren't willing to allow for teams to be sold to random people without a screening process.
Can't see me investing that type of money into something as possibly shaky as an FHL league. They are in and out all the time including the real good ones run by good people. Most of you are still fairly young but there is an old sayiing that investing wisely assures wealth in the long term. I don't believe this would be considered a wise investment in the short or long term. On a yearly basis is risky enough, but at least the investment is minimal.

Too funny boys, Pitt I see your point as well but its nice to have that option to help secure Gm's for the long haul. At least maybe lock guys in for 2 season in advance would be nice to help prevent massive turnover.
I've been doing this for about 12yrs and the best leagues I've been in where I've poured my heart and soul have all folded due to inactivity and the like. This league is shaping up to be a great one and this is my first (pay) league but I like the concept and feel since money is introduced its helping to weed out the bums and solidfy the true gms.
I'll admit boys I havent put 100% into this league yet because I wanted to make sure it was going to be around for a while. Those of you who know me from previous leagues know this is my life and I love this stuff and I'll be stepping up my game. I appologize for having not been as involved as I would have liked and vow to ammend myself in season 2. Thanks for your time -Joe NYRGM
I think we've got a solid core of GMs here, and only time will continue to mould this league into a great league. I just thank Eric and Bryce for all their efforts!
I think if we do put this into motion we should have a few boundries. I think if there are less than 3 teams that have new GMs that they can decide if they wanna just keep there team as is or not. If there is more the choice disappears cause otherwise it complete eliminates the re-balancing that this would provide.
I think we should give them the choice under 3 teams beacuse there might be 1 team that gets a lot worse at the benefit of the others and I dunno if thats fair to the franchise or not.
