NY Islanders win BRHL2 Draft Lottery

In conjunction with the drawing in New York city today, the BRHL2 NY Islanders win the lottery, but in effect the Chicago Blackhawks were the victors owning the Islanders first rounder.

The Hawks now select first, fourth, sixth and eleventh in the first round of the BRHL2 draft.

WOW

simply thats all i can say. is WOW. a 5th and the least chance to get first overall pick and they get it.. and not to mention what this does to the BRHL2 as Chicago steals the show from the Islanders who had no draft picks. plus they own the Rangers...  

Man what a day... Congrats CHICAGO :)

Wow, your team will be like Luke and Aaron's, only even younger. smile
The Isles pick when traded away was supposed to be a low first rounder but after the quarter-season mark the team was dead last in goals and powerplays and out of playoff positioning with a bloated roster of UFAs and retirees, so for the good of the franchise, the team traded away its short term assets and went from the oldest organization to a much younger one.

lol this is great, if the Sabres had left well enough alone they would have likely had the 1st overall and the marquee player in the draft...Jordan Staal

Johnson and Toews/Backstrom is an alright consolation prize I guess, but Jordan Staal is a beast!!!

 Thanks. I thought for some reason our lottery was based on the NHL

I think the way we did it is absolutely perfect and it is one of the many reasons why I am really enjoying this league not to mention my timely rise from the depths lol

One thing of note though and I do not wish to knock anyone on this so consider this a suttle hint.

"We need more write ups on the front page preferably regularily on just about anything."

I cannot tell you how sick I am of the Who Hot, Who's Not article we have there. It makes it seem like the league has stopped fucntioning sort of like a black hole with no change. We need some color here some flare some ............. you know what I mean lol

 heh, I'm behind on the draft. Didn't really read about the thread since I didn't have a first. So since Chicago won it in the NHL, that's who gets it in the BRHL2? What if say a BRHL2 playoff team won it in the NHL?

The BRHL2 Lottery just emulated what position moved  in the NHL.  The fifth overall team in the NHL (Chicago) won the lottery and moved to first.

The fifth overall team in the BRHL2 was NYI, and moved to first in the BRHL2.  We own that pick (Chicago BRHL2) so we get the first pick.

The reason the NHL Blackhawk site was used as a source is because they had it up before TSN.

Come on....pick up the pace buddy...biggrin
