2 days to go until the trade deadline, and the Gossip Mans phones have been ringing off the hook. Here's the latest for all you rumor junkies.


- Anaheim is out looking for a winger, precariously close to the cap, the Ducks will have to get creative to pull anything off.

- Atlanta making the rounds offering a smattering of crap for a good young #1.

- Boston is rumoured to possibly be taking a step back and looking to add a couple of prospects, rumor is he is after a prospect he picked up while he was in LA.

- Buffalo shopping around trying to get a legit #1 for next season. Word is they've inquired about Pascal LeClaire in Boston.

- Calgary is looking to add some center depth, and possibly a top 3 dman. One player being floated around at center is Greg Johnson from Toronto. Chris Phillips is rumored to be on his way out of Calgary.

- Carolina has been relatively quiet as the deadline approaches which is surprising, the team has fallen out of teh top 8 for the moment and need to address some deficiencies as the deadline approached. They could use a winger or 4.

- Chicago, the Blackhaws have added a few pieces but could really use an impact left wing. There aren't many out there, but the Hawks have scouted the FLyers and Mike Sillinger coudl be a possibility.

- Colorado is rumoured to be close to acquiring a kings ransom for Evgeni Malkin, confirmed reports have said the Kings, Bruins, and Leafs have inquired about Malkin. The team is likley looking to add a winger and or a top end dman as the deadline comes. Could Keith Ballard in Phoenix be a target?

- Columbus is looking to add depth to their team, they rebuffed an Orpick/Sullivan for Gagne offer and are more likely to look on the depth part of their team. Rumours are they've inquired about the availability of Jason Ward.

- Dallas, earlier reports had them making an offer for Chris Pronger, we are led to believe he may still be in play. Another rumoured target is Zdeno Chara in St. Louis, the Stars are looking to make a splash at the deadline.

- Detroit, another team quieter than we would have suspected. The Wings have been rumoured to Sergei Fedorov as well as Saku Koivu as they have some cap room and are in the thick of things in the West.

- Edmonton is still looking to upgrade, but their cap situation is making it tough. Rumor is they are looking to add a PK specialist up front for their depth and Brian McGratton may be moved to acquire that.

- Florida is seeking a dman and have been connected to Chris Phillips in Calgary. The Panthers have struggled of late but are still in a dog fight with TB for first in the division.

- Los Angeles is seeking to build their defense up, and it is possible Rob Schremp could be on the way out. Rumblings out of Hollywood had him going East. We think the Bruins are a match as Shuck acquired Schremp when he was their earlier.

- Minnesota, the Wild have seemingly started to sell off a bit, are they concluding they can't compete or is a big splash coming in MInny? We're told they may be after Zdeno Chara and or Brad Lukowich in St Louis.

- Montreal, les Habs have continued there strong play, and continue to be in the CuJo rumours. Would they give up Toivonen for 2 months of CuJo? We doubt it, but it could happen.

- Nashville is looking to sell, the team has dropped off and are shopping veterans like Steve Rucchin and Chris Simon. Rucchin is a possibility in Calgary and Detroit, where Simon could end up in Chicago or Philadelphia.

- New Jersey is after an improvement at backup, one name we're hearing is Robert Esche in Washington. The Caps are likely out of it and could be looking to deal Esche while he has some value.
