I think this is an interesting topic. What do you think he deserves? I dont think anything but the experience rating should really be low cause he for sure is already a good leader. I think he should be around an 85-87 overall.
Experience and Leadership have a minimal effect on OV. Crosby will probably somewhere around Joe Thornton in ratings next year, possibly a bit higher in OV because of his SC.
With this rating system no forward will ever be 85-86 OV.

He won't be that high, his scoring, passing and puck control will go up obviously, maybe his defense a little but other than that it should stay about the same since he's not hitting more than last year or hasn't grown.
what is the highest FHL rating someone has seen before. for defencemen i've seen rob blake back in like 2000 or 1999 get a rating of 87.. but for forwards i think the highest i ever saw was Sakic i think 2001 he was an 86.. dont think there has been any higher. probably because of the dreadful years the nhl went through with no high scoring like today.
Crosby should get about an 88 max... he is the best at the present
I think he should be 2 ratings higher than the next highest guy, hes 10 pts over everyone in scoring with on average 5 games less played! Thats like 17-18 pts over EVERYONE in the league! Thats huge! Hes 19 too!

You need to understand that OV is not based only on points.
Ratings like IT (based on hits), ST (based on height and weight), DF (PK minutes and other things) and SP also have a great effect on overall and Crosby is not the best in those categories, far from it.

People look simply at OV far too much. OV is simply a quick snapshot and can often be very misleading. Players can have super high EN, DU... maybe some ST and IT... but then be more or less useless in most other stats... but still have a decent OV. Aside from helping draw fans at the higher OV levels, OV should be looked at as nothing more than a quick snapshot.
One thing this sim needs is a way to take OVerall out of the rating output. Things owuld be much more interesting if people could not see the OVerall (plus it would make like much easier for those that do rerates).

Yea I always love those offers where you are suppose to give up a guy who scored 40 goals but only has an OV of 75 or something for a guy who has big IT and ST ratings that get him to 75 OV.. but but they have equal OV
It all depends on the re-rate system that you use. I don't remember the highest rated OV in the BRHL system. Could've been an 85. Bryce would have a better memory than me, and knows his ratings theory better than I do.
But if I had to guess, Crosby's OV next year would be around a 22-23. Incase you didn't know we're subtracting 60 points in every category for every player, not a member of the Calgary Flames. Sorry for the late heads up!

WHAT THIS IS REDICULOUS!?? He should at least be a 24-25 if it's 60 points less:D
