Calgary and Chicago swing a deal.

In a roster shakeup, the Flames have moved Milan Hejduk to Chicago in exchange for Eric Lindros.

Lindros comes to help aid a struggling Flames team that has dropped 6 straight heading into the All-Star break.  Hejduk was an odd man out, when a majority of the Flames seemingly receive contract offers to stay around and avoid an open market as a RFA. GM Eric Dolegowski made it no secret that he was looking to move the winger for a 2nd line player to help the team down the stretch.  When rumored talks fell through with Carolina, Dolegowski went back to GM George Bachul to enquire about Lindros for the 3rd time.

The move comes as a salary dump as well for the Flames as they shaved nearly 2 million off their books.

Wow, 5 more years of Hejduk for a quarter season of Lindros

GM Bachul was caught up with in a hot tub at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas...

"Um, yeah, Big E, out, Hejduk in....'honey, pass the Dom...'.  Yeah...we had some good offers in play for Eric, and Milan is a former all star, a good player and a character guy.  We should have no problem resigning him long term and allowing for our team to grow with a more solid...especially in the coconut...player.....now if you'll excuse me, the craps tables are calling my name."

Still, I would have thought the Big E would garner a 2nd or decent prospect...

Hejduk should be taking a pay decrease, if he gets any kind of raise then free agency is whack
