East Ruthersford, NJ--It is rumored that New Jersey netminder Miikka Kiprusoff recently contacted General Manager Rob Botham of the Eastern Conference All-Stars to notify him of his plans not to make the trip to Dallas. Kiprusoff's specific reason was not made public but it is said to be some combination of preparing for a playoff push and a general fear off all things Texas. His decision is said to be uninfluenced by any grumblings over his selection from his former general manager and Kipper is said to look forward to the prospect of playing his former team on Day 148.
East GM Rob Botham was contacted for his comment on Kipper bowing out of the All Star game and had this to say, "I respect Mikka's decision, he wants to focus on his team and not fact the distractions of an all star game, and I will hounour that decision. So I would like to announce that Henrik Lundqvist, a player that unfortunately slipped through the cracks the first time will take his spot. I would also like to take this chance to announce that Mike Fishcer will be taking Kristian Huselius spot as the Islanders rep."

word out of atlanta is recently aquired winger kristian huselious is enraged by the fact he got kicked off the all-star roster. he had this to say about the situation, "i was called the other day and told i would be going to the all-star game, ive never been so happy in my life to be thought of in the same breath as the other guys like heater, burnanby joe, guys like that was a great honour for me. I told my parents and family back home and they are all coming to dallas to watch me play and now i hear that i wont be going to the all-star game is just ridiculous, being traded from a team shouldnt make me less deserving to be going to play at that game."
