Breaking News out of Edmonton tonight suggests that the Edmonton Oilers have aquired Nicklas Lidstrom from the Toronto Maple Leafs. Also coming along with Lidstrom was veteran forward Scott Walker. Going to Toronto was young blueliner Kurtis Foster, Freddy Modin, and 3 high draft picks.

While we feel we gave up quite a bit of youth in this trade for a unrestricted free agent at seasons end, we now have the defenseman we have been looking for all season long. This should make us a bonified cup contender
